Spring Pops In
by Toni Gamarro-Payne
The sun shines brightly over head,
But it's the cold you feel instead.
Winter is hanging on not shaking free,
No birds yet singing in the trees.
Ice coats the streets around,
Slipping and sliding on the ground.
By day the ice disapears,
leaving moisture behind, it's tears.
By night the tears freeze again,
It's a nasty circle we get in.
Soon the sun will warm the earth,
Spring will come and bring rebirth.
Flowers will bloom, birds will sing,
Children riding bikes, playing on the swing.
Spring pops in fresh and new,
Smell the blossoms, feel the sun, enjoy the view.
