The difference in men and women
Posted On 03/03/2007 10:03:14 by wlittle1686
Don't worry. . .I'm not talking about the "men are from Venus" kind of different, I'm talking about the difference between men and women and the temperature that they sleep best in. First of all - just by way of explanation - my wife is originally from the north (she was living in Ohio when she decided to move to Georgia in 1981) so the cold seemingly doesn't bother her. Me. . .I'm looking for a fireplace if the temperature drops below 50 degrees.

This same thing goes when we go to bed at night -- I'll have the covers up to my neck and she's complaining about being hot. Here's the weird part: I wake up during the night (usually around 3:00 a.m.) and I'll be freezing because she has pulled most - if not all - of the bedspread, blanket(s) and flannel sheets to her side of the bed. What gives?

DISCLAIMER:

Before everyone - including my wife - jumps on me for this blog. . .it's just a curious thought that ran through my mind this morning. In no way am I fussing or complaning.

Mary Lou is 56 and she said "she thinks" she went through menopause starting when she was around 50. Whether she did or not I don't know. Like I say, it's just kind of comical to me how normally she's very warm-natured unless it could be she is one of these rare people who experience a significant drop in temperature at night when they sleep.

LOL... I like it to be cool enough to have to have covers over me which is tough thing to do here in the Summer (Texas). My husband is from North Dakota, but I think the cold gets to him more than it does me, but menopause could have a great deal to do with that.

Love the disclaimer, Walter! Guess, covers or not, you at least want to be able to sleep IN THE BED! Funny! I'm sure you NEVER fuss and complain. I think this is a fairly universal dilemma, if it's any consolation. If you find a solution, you'll probably make a good buck marketing it.
