Dear Boomers

How many of you,I wonder are aware of a group within MyBoomerPlace that is there to be used by poets(and readers of poetry) regardless of creed, colour and gender to show their poetry/prose for you to read and comment on.

Why you should want to or not depends on your view of poetry and writing in general.

You may not like reading poetry or you prefer reading poetry by the greats such as Tennyson, Byron and many others…but...do you really know what Poetry is about and why people write it?

I can only speak for myself but I am sure that the reasons I write, will ring a bell with some others.

I write poetry to express a feeling that I have within me, a thought that fills my mind that wont go away...and I can express that emotion/feeling in words on paper that I might NOT be able to express in speech.

An artist will paint a picture to express what he can see...in order that others might enjoy his work and maybe in some way understand the feelings and emotions that he felt at the time of the painting.

A Poet does exactly the same, but he/she paints pictures with words.

I write in the hope that the reader might understand the emotions in the words, and maybe, just maybe it might rekindle an old and hidden memory to be lived all over again.

Feel free to drop in Groups/ Literature and Poetry/ Poets Corner and view some of the poetry yourself. You never know, you might enjoy it. You also have the opportunity to comment on poets work and we accept constructive criticism as well as positive comments of course.
