Stones Review

Monday, day one of my busy week, just about over. I almost didn’t get out of work on time. I was on the phone with someone from out of state working when I looked at the bottom right hand corner of the computer. The time displayed was 3:59. I was supposed to have already closed down my computer and been in my car at that time.

The guy I was talking to is really nice and laid back so I told him I had to go – I was going to see the Stones. He was all excited for me that I was going to see them, thinking they were live somewhere here but then I told him the IMAX film and say SEE YEAH and got off the phone quickly.

I put my stuff away and walked quickly to my car. I prayed there was no traffic and luck was on my side. I got there exactly the time I was told and the “crew” was waiting for me. I barely had time to hit the ladies room before we walked in the theater.

I love the stones and truth be told I LOVE Mick’s hug lips. LOVE THEM – I have thing for big lips I guess. Seeing these monstrosity of lips on the screen in front of me was just a hug turn on for me. Mick does it to to--à However, at the age of 64 (his current age) it’s not doing it to me so much any more (LOL) and add to this fact that the wrinkles that you could see close up was enough to scare the shit of anyone!

I thought Shine the Light was OK. I thought the filming was too out of focus most of the time, the cameras were all over the place and I was getting a little dizzy with the whole thing. I like the music and the sound system was good. There were quite a few funny remarks throughout the whole filming and several guest appearances.

The worse part of the whole movie was the film malfunctioned and some how the words and movie were out of synch and it was terrible to see lips moving and 30 seconds later hear the words. It was extremely annoying. This seemed to last forever but I think it was a good 10 minutes and somehow they got it back in synch and life was good again.

My usual statement is I’m glad I went to this. The IMAX folks gave us free tickets to either come and see this over again or go see another show because of the malfunction that occurred. This is a good business decision and I was so happy they did this because it was annoying.

After the movie we went to dinner together and met up with a couple of friends who couldn’t get to the show. I think we had about 12 people. Excellent dinner conversation and good food.

It was yet another friend’s birthday. This man turned 60 (acts like 50) and I couldn’t see this going un-noticed. The person who did know of his birthday didn’t tell any of us and she should of got a little party going for this man. He has been so good to her over the last few years but she is very self centered and didn’t even think about giving him a card!

Anyway, I thought long and hard as what I can do for this guy. I know he wanted a Hummer too but this was already done. It wouldn’t have been right to give him the same gift.

Instead, he got a cute GET SMART card (do you remember the TV show Get Smart and agent 99?) So the card basically said AT YOUR AGE YOU NEED TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOU PISTOL IS IN WORKING ORDER. It made him laugh but he especially liked the little gift I gave him and the note in his card. It said in the effect:

YOU ARE NOW AT THAT AGE WHERE YOU WANT TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR FOR…YOU KNOW…SO I SAVED YOU THE EMBARASSMENT OF GOING TO THE PHARACY AND PICKED IT UP FOR YOU

Inside the bag was, not what you are thinking, but a Colon Exam Kit for people over 60. He, of course thought it was Viagra. We all had a good laugh and they assured me pay back is coming.

I am not too worried because of two reasons: The first being they are men and men forgot birthdays. The second being my birthday is in the summer and I’m never around. I’m on vacation and no one ever remembers my birthday. It’s just the way it is and I’ve gotten use to this after 44, opps I mean 29 years.

44?  You don't look a day over ... oh well, never mind ...
