Hi everyone,  I want to report that my Dad is doing better.  He had permanent nephrostomy tubes inserted in both kidneys to drain, since the normal pathway has been obstructed by the progression of his cancer.  The good news is that the kidneys are functioning.  The tubes and external urine drainage bags will be a nuisance, but something that can be managed.  As far as the cancer goes, I'm not sure what happens next, whether or not they will want to continue the chemo.  He will be seeing the oncologist in a month or so, when he has recovered from this episode.  Yesterday he was moved to a Rehab center.  It seems to be a nice place and we don't expect him to be there very long.  My goal is to be able to take him with us to the mountains on August 2nd as planned.
My daughter is doing as well as can be expected 6 1/2 weeks after losing her baby son.  Last week she felt that she was doing better, then this week she seemed to feel sadder. I'm sure there will be ups and downs.  Hormones may be playing a role as well.  It's so hard to try to support her with her being so far away.  The past 2 months have been very difficult, hoping for gentler times ahead.  I hope you all have a good summer.   Hugs, Faith

Sure seems there is way too much on your plate about now. I'll be beaming some strength and positive vibes your way. Bless Dad's heart, what a trooper! Glad he's doing better for now. And my heart goes out to your daughter and husband.
Hugs,
Melody

Hello Faith ,

Yes you have had your share of sorrow . Hopefully in the next few months life will get better . Your daughter could take years to get over losing her child. My girlfriend lost her daughter 3 days after she was born and it took her along time to be able to even talk about it. She just drowned her self in work. To keep her busy. I hope you have a wonderful July 4th . Take care , God Bless Sharon
