FOREGIVENESS

Forgiveness will help another;
It will do much more for you.
It frees your heart and opens it
For the things you are to do.
*
It isn't just for actions.
It's for everything deep in your soul.
It lifts your burdens and blesses you;
It lets God make you whole.
*
Sometimes forgiveness seems so hard
For those who've done us wrong.
And in our hearts we tell ourselves
For us they don't belong.
*
At times we think "I won't forgive;
You've hurt me way too much."
That's just the time to turn to God;
He'll help you with His touch.
*
It's not always easy to forgive
The ones who've come our way.
Just remember God has said to us:
"I forgive you every day."
*
God will help us with forgiving.
A lesson's there, you know.
Forgiveness doesn't mean forget.
It just means letting go.
