WELCOME HOME, ALL OF MINE, WELCOME HOME!
BigThoughts (in the Gotcha Gang) is still at it… I just read one of his punny stories about 2 little boys throwing peanuts to an elephant. It reminded me of an event that occurred many a year ago.
Honest to God’s truth coming up.
Once upon a time ago, meems had to make a trip to see a doctor in Cinti. Appointment was before noon. Made the trip… was a beautiful sunny fall day. I decide to visit the zoo.
It was only a short side trip off 275, down I75. I get to the zoo… wander around… go to the Aquarium… Watched the lemon sharks for quite a while. Finally leave and as I go out the door, I spot people gathering around an elephant and her keeper. I walk over and chat with the keeper for a moment.. Elephant checks me out… scent wise.
I go over… pay my money and take a ride on the elephant. Then I see the camel…oh boy! Another ride.. Pay my money and climb aboard the custom made two hump saddle.
I know I’ve talked about this before but I still get tickled when I think about it.
I get home.. call my friend, Jackie. I tell her about riding the elephant and the camel. I got dead silence. She changes the subject.. I go along with the change.
Wasn’t til later that I got to thinking about the rides and why Jackie didn’t say anything. I call her back to ask “why?” “didn’t you believe me?”… lolol
Jackie says: “Oh, I believed you! I can see the elephant reaching out to you (me). See you climb over the rail and clamber across the moat. Get to the elephant and climb aboard. Me (Jackie) getting a call from Cinti PD. You have been arrested for…. “ I cracked up… She was serious. Did I mention that Jackie was a Captain on the Hamilton Police Department? May I mention that NOTHING I did ever surprised her?
I’ve decided I am cute but a little strange…Is this an understatement? Lololol
Anyway, back to the camel for a minute… I’ve ridden horses, mules, walking horses, pacers… done all the gaits a horse might have. But a camel is different.
I’ve read where camel riders bind their stomachs… I finally understood why. Setting and riding a camel means that the body, below the waist, moves in a figure eight motion. (And in case anybody might be interested… my body don’t move that way any more!) lolol In other words, I am definitely staying away from zoos from now on! Got the giggles!

Just a reminder that I am always in safe hands...errrrr.... Paws. lololol
Guess that’s it for the time being… I see the Saints won… Congrats!
Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember, it’s only a game… with big bucks involved… Oh yeah…
Many hugs, much love and lots of giggles… meems
