I have been having my blood pressure high after lunch when I go to see the Doctor.

I just found out that the amount of salt in the food helps determines how high your blood pressure is going to be.  Some of the food I buy in cans or even premade dinners that you can buy and heat up in the microwave have alot of salt.  Over a thousand mg. or 1 gram.  I thought I was eating well to be able to have premade dinners to take with me for lunch.  And there is so much salt in those premade soups and premade dinners.  There are only 2 types of those premade dinners that have less than 1,000 mgs of salt at one of our grocery stores.  When they thought my kidneys were not working right, they put me on a 2000 mg of salt diet for an all day total.  So you can see that if I spend over 1000 mg. in one meal I do not have very much salt intake for the rest of the day.

I had my sleep apnea test this last Monday.  I already knew that I have sleep apnea because Walter had told me I had been snoring and then stopping breathing at night.  So before I took the test I expected to need help with my breathing at night.  Plus before I went to sleep they had me lie on my back with only 1 pillow.  After I was laying that way for a few minutes the tech came in and told me that I had a defective pulseox.  She took that off and tested it on her finger and found out it was working, but that my oxygen level had dropped from about 97 to under 90.  [Walter told me when I was in the ER it had gone down to 80 something a couple of times.]  So I told her I had already known that.

I won't find out my results from that test until the 21st of this month.  The day before that I am supposed to have 3 teeth taken out.  I hope that goes better than it did when I had a tooth pulled last week.  My face swelled up so much that Walter said that I had been mugged.  Plus I had a 3 inch by 3 inch bruise.  The bruise went from the nose and went down my chin and eventually down my throat.  And then it went on one side of my eye.  .

I have trouble laying down flat on my back.  So when I wake up in the morning I realize I need to get up because of how my chest feels; and I feel I am having trouble breathing.    So I will be happy when I find out what will help me.  What I do not know is what to do when I am away from home and I am gasping for air.  About all I know is that I need to have an ambulance come and take me to the hospital.

I didn't realize that I have congestive heart failure too.  Walter took it for granted that I knew that I had it.  I knew that I hve fluids in my feet, lower legs and knuckles and wrists.  Now that they have diagnosed me with psoasis and they have known that I have arithritis in all my bones from my neck down.  The rheumatoligist thinks It may not be congestive heart failure; but that the arthritis goes along with the psoasis the Doctor thinks that the swelling may be caused by the psoasis and the arthritis.  That would explain why the lasix does not help; and exercise does.  So now that you know what's going on with me, maybe you can tell me what is going on with YOU!!  Love, Mary Lou   I haven't heard from youin a long, long time.  PLEASE let me know what's up.  That group you have on menopause helped me out  I wouldn't have thought about sleep apnea, if one response hadn't suggested it.
