Need new coping strategies!
Hi, I have been living and dealing with chronic pain now for the past 11 years. I got hurt on the job back in May of 1995, when I was 39, injuring my cervical, lumbar and my left shoulder. I have since developed Fibromyalgia and Myofacial Pain Complex as well. Over the last 11 years I have seen by countless doctors, physiatrists, and pain specialists. I've taken numerous meds and taken many tests and other treatments....some of which actually helped with the pain a little bit but never for long...and then the pain would return with a vengence! I wish I cold go back in time and change things. My life today is alot different than it was...I am alot different than I once was. I wish I could find that person I used to be again. I really miss her. I have both good days and bad days....more bad days lately than good ones. What are some of the things you do to ease your pain? I really need some help at finding new coping strategies. Gentle Hugs, Lynn

Coping
The only thing I do is to listen to my body. When the warning comes I sit down and do nothing else. I don't care what needs to be done... it can wait. Nothing is worth the pain that will come if I don't listen. I'm grateful that I can walk, when many cannot. I'm grateful that I still have good muscles, many do not. So, instead of crying about it; I try to think of how much better off I am and can be if I'm careful. I know that when I get off this Earth... I will be perfect!
