where were you when
I was in High School watching the junior play (my brother was in it), they made the announcement and released school early. I remember everyone in the halls trying to find out what happened and trying to understand.

Where was I when
I was in 9th grade english class, the teacher asked me to run something to the office. When I entered the hallway there were teachers in the hallway talking about it. I ran back to the classroom to report the news to the class. The teacher thought I was trying to be funny (?) she started to lecture me when the principal came in and told her it was the truth. (My english teacher was very negative) I could not believe the news I can remember having a funny feeling inside. Between that and the Viet Nam war I think that is when the world started to change.

Only my feelings, both were political blunders.

The day JFK died
I was in First Grade in a reading group. I remember the Principal coming in and showing the teacher a card with a Red Cross on it and then she left in tears.

For the record, I still keep in touch with that teacher.

I was
I was a junior in high school. Don't remember what class I was in when we were told, that was overshadowed by the whole thing, just remember school was let out early and went home and stayed glued to the TV for about a week watching everything we could about it. I think that's the first time I remember crying over something outside of family stuff, sure wasn't the last!
