I was in High School watching the junior play (my brother was in it), they made the announcement and released school early. I remember everyone in the halls trying to find out what happened and trying to understand.

I was in Biology class when it was announced over the PA system. We were all in shock...

I was in 9th grade english class, the teacher asked me to run something to the office. When I entered the hallway there were teachers in the hallway talking about it. I ran back to the classroom to report the news to the class. The teacher thought I was trying to be funny (?) she started to lecture me when the principal came in and told her it was the truth. (My english teacher was very negative) I could not believe the news I can remember having a funny feeling inside. Between that and the Viet Nam war I think that is when the world started to change.

Only my feelings, both were political blunders.

I was in First Grade in a reading group. I remember the Principal coming in and showing the teacher a card with a Red Cross on it and then she left in tears.

For the record, I still keep in touch with that teacher.

I was in the 8th grade we were all sent home it was a very sad day... Patty

I was married and had 3 children by that time so I know I was at home when it came on the tv that day . I am sure a day we all will never forget

I'm sure we all remember the day JFK was assinated, I was just wondering if we remember where we were at that time.
I will start us off....I was in high school english class whe we got the news that the President had been shot. School was let out for the rest of the day and week!

I was in music and we were working on a piece for our Christmas concert. It was announced on the pa system. Our teacher told us to please put away our instuments.. it was silence for a few moments then whispers.. and the pa was opened to hear the radio news. We were all told to stay in the room that we were in and not to change classes. We were dismissed to go home about 30 minutes later. I ran home as fast as I could. My Mom was home as most moms were in those days. .. We both sat there and watched the TV, then my brother came home from work and my little sister.. we stayed glued to the tv for the next few days until school was back in session again.
I believe that this day and the Vietman war began an new era in America.. one in which values have faded.

I was standing at my locker at the end of the day in junior high school. Dale Shane tole me the president had been shot and that was why all the teachers kept leaving the room and crying. I told him he was crazy, no one could shoot the president of the United States. Then we went into home room for dismissal and the teacher, Mr Durst told us the news. I looked at Dale and he looked at me like, See, I told you so. I guess you could say I remember it well.
