Hi, my name is Cheryl. When I'm not at work, I'm usually at the marina near Kenosha Wi with my husband who loves to fish for salmon in Lake Micigan. Unfortunately, everytime I get in his boat I get sea-sick. Give me a smaller lake where I can see land and I'm fine. We have a few nice forest preserves around here to do some fishing, but the weather has'nt been nice enough to do any fishing the past couple of weeks. Next year I will be going to Canada with John and do some walleye fishing and get a chance to see some country. Good fishing to you all.

Hi, I'm Serafina , better known as Sara. I have been on boomer since spring of 2006 I got a fishing pole for my birthday and have not used it yet My nephew promises he is coming to help me get started but he lives 10 miles up the road and you don't want to pressure them to do anything. Poor babies might have a traumatic experience Oh the pressure I have no idea what I am going to go fishing for but I am going to do it I've been widowed since 1986 and my husband and I used to go fishing out of Freeport, and Montauk on long island ny all the time I'm 55, have no children of my own I lost my brother in 1984 and he left three of the most wonderful children in the world. 1 niece and 2 nephews, I have three great neices whom everyone who has ever been on my page has seen pictures of MY GIRLIES my nephews are not married and have no children YET so if anyone knows two nice girls I have two nice boys.I am passing on my love to these children as they are the closest thing to childrena and grandchildren I will ever have. My nephew in law loves to fish and he is so looking forward to the girls getting older so he can take them I don't work as I am on disability since I got hurt several years ago. Living in a 55 and over community on a lake in central Florida Now that I am (thank God and my friends for all their prayers) feeling better I will have time to fish If there is anything else you would like to know please ask hugs Sara

Sara, shame on you! you live on a lake and don't fish?? Don't wait for someone to take you, go down to the lake and act like you don't know what your'e doing and some nice gentleman will surely help you. or just go ask someone fishing if they could help. It's so peaceful and when you get something on that line, look out. If you fished years ago you should know that. Next thing you know you'll be out there fishing all the time!! Maybe I'll plan a fishing trip to FLA next year!!

Hello, Marianne. My name is June but I'm known as Junie. I believe I did take one fishing trip with you but I'm not very good at it any longer. The last time I went fishing was with my first two little boys at Carter Lake in Iowa-Nebraska. We used to have a lot of fun! Most of my fishing was with Mom and Daddy when I was a child. I always loved going with them. We sat on the side of a river bank and threw our lines in. Catfish and Bullheads was about all there was for fish back in those days where we lived. Of course, I still live in the same area. Papa Allen used to fish a lot and we've talked about going out but something always seems to come up to prevent it. Neither one of us can do the camping routine since we don't have a camper trailer and neither of us can handle the tent so it would be a one day affair IF we can manage it. But we do daydream. Of course neither of us ever did the big fishing like you and probably never will but we could still have fun if the "odd jobs" would settle down. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the group. If I can stay away from the "cruises" for awhile I'll play "make believe" with you. Of course, I'll need to do a bit of research first. ~Junie~

Hi everybody
Just call me Cat. I don't fish much anymore but I do love being outdoors and near the water. I suppose I read and catch some rays more than I fish. I especially like to eat the stuff! If hubby buys a small boat we will be fishing a lot on the Snake river. The first time I ever went fishing was in a pond in Missouri. I caught a crawdad! Dad used to take me with his buddies to look for night crawlers after a fresh rain. I was shorter and closer to the ground so I could spot them easily. I live in Buhl, Idaho, the trout capital of the world. We export more trout than any other place. They even sell spicy popcorn trout in some restaurants here. On Sept. 15th there will be the trout festival. It's the second one held here. The city is installing a giant metal sculpture of a trout on the side of an old brick building. I'll send pics when it's up. There is a 5 foot wooden trout on every street corner in the main part of town. They are all painted up to represent businesses. I especially like fish and seafood from the ocean. Old Bay seasoning mix sponsered a contest asking who was the biggest seafood lover. I had to write an essay and won 3 different times. I was sent to Seattle and had a peel and eat shrimp contest. I came in 3rd or 4th place. If I had won 1st they would have shipped me off to Baltimore to try for $10,000. Yup, I love to eat all forms of fish. Happy fishing to all of you!

Hi Marianne I am Barb and I have loved to fish since I have been a little girl. My Dad always wanted a boy and never had one so I guess I was that boy to him. He took me fishing all the time. I remember going smelt fishing on Lake Michigan at night. Throwing the net in the water and waiting for all the fish. We had to pull them all off. We used to clean and fry them right there on the lake. Yum. Then there was those lake perch. They gave me quite a fight. Sitting on Montrose Harbor Pier waiting so aptiently for that fish. They were yummy too. I dooubt that we could eat any of the fish now from the lake with all the polluntion and all. We fished after I got married, we used to get up before the sun pack food to make breakfast. We got there before the sun came up and got all set up. I always did the cooking on my ex/s homemade grill, sausage, eggs, toast whatever. It was so much fun to sit by the lake and eat and watch the fish jump. The fish though seemed to get smaller and smaller. When my son Tim was alive he and I would take Maxie my grandson fishing. Maxie was oh so patient waiting for that fish. Now that's good for a five year old. I have all my son's poles and one day plan on giving them to his nephews. he has one that was custom made with his name on it. I hope he can do some fishing up in heaven too. My boyfriend and I take Maxie fishing by his Dad's house. He lives by Fox lake. Butch doesn't like to fish but Grandpa surely does. I put those worms on for Maxie and take the fish off. To me fishing is so relaxing........ Tim always wanted to get a boat.......wish we had now. That's about it. Barb

Another son a father never had!! I was one too! Guess that's why I turned out to be such a tomboy. Dad taught me to fish, play football, baseball, and to golf. But he also taught me to enjoy opera, so go figure. I think Tim will be with you every time you fish. Thanks Barb.

We don't do the make believe very often Junie. Mostly talk about what we really do. Fish. You need to say the heck with the odd jobs and make time to go one day. You two would really have fun. And it kind of re-news you for the things you have to face every day. I try to go over to the local lake at least once a week. and there are times i go several times a week. Quit talking about it and just do it!! Make sure you take a camera so we can see what you do! Thanks for being here Junie.

OMG!! You live near the Snake River and don't fish? There ought to be a law! LOL I'd be out there every day. I've watched them on the fishin' shows fly fishing the Snake River. Haven't really tried fly fishin'. These old joints don't work well enough to throw that line like that. But I'd be fishing anyway. And the eating!! Nothin' like fresh trout! I'm jealous! I want to go live where everyone else lives!! There's nothing here in Dayton, I have to drive all over Ohio to go fishing. I'd go crazy if I lived where some of you guys do! Great to have you here Cat. We can talk about it anyway! and maybe you've got some good recipes!!??
