Hey Chet
I'm a part time Arizonan. Own two places in AZ.... One is in the town (not the county) of Maricopa which is a long term rental and the other is in a place called Sun lakes, which is right next to, sorta part of Chandler.

Most of the time we rent our SL place out to snowbirds. It's a gated (and manned) community with private golf courses, pools and tennis. There is on site dining from casual to formal. The streets are immaculate and there are all sorts of activities, even for us young retirees. Though I'm still a New Yorker, I'm down here in the "dry heat" for October and then coming back in December too. Could have rented it out, but want to enjoy the place a little too.

The overall population is a little older, but I'm 51 and I like it fine. Whatever I don't do in Sun Lakes I can find in Chandler which has any store you could ever need. Movies, art center, etc...

None

From Arizona also but up in the N.W part. Kingman is across from Bullhead City, 2 hours from Vegas depending on dam traffic.

Summers are to hot for me in Phx area. Vegas also for that matter and I hate Bullhead/Laughlin in the summer. Kingman is up higher so cooler in summer but not by much. Cold in winter.

I have been here for 6 years from CA of course.

This area does NOT have any major shopping/eating. Kind of on the small side but growing from the influx of Californians and Texans.

Less traffic up here also and the wind blows 95 per cent of the time so the air is less smoggy. More open land, so not as much black top and buildings to hold the heat in and it cools down almost every night.

I have enjoyed Arizona for the most part. Still miss the fresh fish you could get on the coast of CA and the ocean.

Kat
