A Add On To what I said
For those of who are wondering why I do not have this on my page , its because I have learned and been hurt by some in my local room who learned about me and have put me down. I have some friends there and they are great ones but there is always one or two who are the bad apples and go out of their way to hurt others . When i joined I didnt know what to expect here but I have come to know that there are very good people and friends here on Boomer , so I decided to post it for you that know me or talk to me on the phone .

You are truely angels here and I am so blessed to know you and have you in my life

Thanks again for giving me the courage to write this .

love and hugs

THANK YOU RITA FOR THE LOVELY FLOWERS . i COULD WRITE PAGES ON THINGS THAT I HAVE DONE OR HAVE EXPERIENCED . WHEN I WAS 5 I SAW MY FIRST ICE SKATING SHOW AND THEN I WANTED TO BE A ICE SKATER SO MY PARENTS GAVE ME LESSONS AND I SKATED TILL I MARRIED BUT THEN WHEN I GOT HURT I THREW THEM AWAY BECAUSE THEY WERE A REMINDER OF THE PERSON I WAS AND NO LONGER WOULD BE . THEN SEVERAL YRS AGO MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER AND HER HUBBY TOOK HER KIDS TO THE SKATING RINK AND NATUALLY GRANDMA WENT ALSO TO WATCH THEM . AFTER A WHILE MY SON N LAW WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH I LOVE TO WATCH ICE SKATING GOT ME OUT ON THE RINK AND WOULD PUSH ME AND WHEN WE GOT TO THE CORNERS HE WOULD SHOVE MY CHAIR AND I WOULD DO DONUTS AROUND THE RINK . I HAD A BLAST AND THE KIDS LOVED SEEING GRANDMA SPINNING IN HER WHEELS . I CAN'T LET IT GET ME DOWN I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT I WAS LEFT HERE FOR A REASON .

THANKS FOR LISTENING TO ME

Here for a Reason
Sandy you are here for a reason. You strengthen us by telling your story. You have given each of us in this group, in other groups and in real life. You are an example of what we can do when we are struck with a couple or 1 of your problems. You are here to learn from us and to show us a better way, too. Love, Mary Lou XXXXXOOOOO

This is a quote from the book, "The Velveteen Rabbit." Deb and I love this story.

The Skin Horse had lived longer in the nursery than any of the others. He was so old that his brown coat was bald in patches and showed the seams underneath, and most of the hairs in his tail had been pulled out to string bead necklaces. He was wise, for he had seen a long succession of mechanical toys arrive to boast and swagger, and by-and-by break their mainsprings and pass away, and he knew that they were only toys, and would never turn into anything else. For nursery magic is very strange and wonderful, and only those playthings that are old and wise and experienced like the Skin Horse understand all about it.

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

Thank you Jessie, I had forgotten about the book and the saying is so true . I may be old but I have not given up on living yet. In many ways I am stronger now than I was before I got hurt. No matter what happens to me ,I have survived for a reason . Thank you for accepting me as as I am Jessie , a computer dummy .

love you my dear friend and thank you for reminding me of those words

Sandy, I am so glad you shared your story with us. Having you in our midst will certainly add to this group. My problems pale when compared to what you have survived and, lady, my hat is off to you.

Quit worrying so much about what anyone thinks about your computer skills. We are always here to help you.

Love you lady
Linda
