KYO
In 1987 I had to put my little dog Kyo to sleep, It took me along time to do it that little sweet black and tan sheltie cross spaniel was my life line for so long and I thought she would be around for allot longer, I was in a very bad relationship when I first got KYO and she helped me though allot and she got abused as much as I did, she got kicked and hit and thrown against walls by my ex and she still loved him as did I, he hurt her because he knew it hurt me more , but anyway I didn't realize how sick she was ,I always thought she would be around for a lot longer she was only 8 years old, but she had cancer of the mammary glands and it was bad . But I didn't see it all I saw was my little sweet dog who needed more love than ever, until one day one of my friends said to me 'WHAT are you doing to her look at her she is sick!!! " and that is the first time I looked at her and I was horrified ...it was in my mind what the hell am I doing to this Poor dog she had suffered enough in her life ,I had to get my husband and my two other friends to take her to the vet to have put too sleep I couldn't go I can't handle death and I have a hard time letting go, and what happens at the VET!! someone who has supposedly given all his training to taking care of animals its Friday he tells my husband He is going on a fishing trip bring the dog back on Monday!!!! WHAT my dog was in pain and had lumps allover her belly she weighed about 10 lbs ( normal weight25lbs) and he says come back I finally made up my mind to let her go (ya know she used to sing to Olivia Newton john's "If you Love Me Let Me Know")I played that song on the record player and taped her and me singing to it, AND HE SAYS HE IS TOO BUSY to put her out of her misery, well needless to say my husband and friends made him change his mind and take the time to let her rest and she had my husband and my friends telling her what a good girl she was and how much they loved her as she died.
And we Buried her by the ocean where she loved to go and chase ducks.
And I still miss her and always think of her.
