It's a touchy answer.. but may work
To answer your question I have to ask a question. Do you know what the Landlord’s Term’s and Conditions were with that family? The reason I ask, is some landlords are quick to say “No Improvements, No Nails, No nothing in the walls, and do not change any and all structures of this Location” I say this because some Landlords forget what their terms were and how some take it as …He wants to do it all… Now stay with me here because I am not Landlord bashing just stating the fact some people take things to mean one thing but do not really understand what the rules are. Ok, after saying that I now am going on the front of the Landlords line. Being a Sociology and know with dealings with people in general people take advantage of any situation they can, not all mind you. As I say this there are always good people and bad, and sometimes I like to refer to some peoples luck as having a bad horseshoe… They are the ones that always pick the wrong man, or woman. They are the ones always taken advantage of, why… I can’t say, it’s a gene that sometimes is like a dog’s sense in fear… people tend to pick on that person, not because of anything other then… they look like an easy mark… Not all people, just some… and I refer to some as a minuet amount. Not all people are good and not all people are bad, but some people have all the luck and some don’t. Perhaps this might be a good approach for your landlord to take. Pick a Saturday when the weather is nice, and they are both home and make a stop in, have him call first, and say perhaps he just wants to come over and explain some improvements he wishes to make on the house for them. By calling you give them ample time to prepare the said destruction area for better viewing, and no one, I repeat no one likes to have someone stop over when they are not ready for company…trust me, the air is not manageable. So after he sets this meeting up perhaps he could ask them nicely his expectations that perhaps he was not clear on their interpretation of his renting procedures from his tenants. That is all I can say to help, some people will give him the finger and say evict me, and others will be nice and say they had no idea… He has to find out which people he has as renters… They may be thinking this guy is not a good landlord and that they could help keep it clean, but are not being able to … I have no clue, other then people misconstrue many things… trust me many…

It is sad
That folks have no respect for other peoples property. Even sadder that most don't even have respect for their own things anymore. Everything is replaceable. We don't take care of things like we use to. It costs so much no days to fix something that buying a new one is the better way to go.

Thank you for your responses. These people I', talking about, the landlord, my husband and I have all talked many times about what is what. There the kind who want what THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT IT whether it be feasable or not. The landlord is MORE than more with them. They just simple seem to be "hogs" in the way they take care of the property and there OWN things. They've come over here many times DEMANDING something that wasn't in the agreement, like all new windows, which aren't needed; just keep the old ones closed when it too hot or too cold. For instance, the storm windows are half way up right now in this very cold weather. I have lived in a trailer court and have seen some pretty bad stuff many years ago. That's why I can say that they seem to be like "trailer trash." Mind you it isn't like that anymore. We don't live in the ritzie side of town but certain things should just come naturally. People do have pride but not these. As of last night they're having more problems with one of their LARGE dogs. We spoke with the landlord to let him know what was going on and he didn't even know they had another dog. They're only supposed to have 1! Come spring, if not sooner, there WILL be clarification for them. I'm just afraid they'll end up moving, mostly over the dog situation, and my husband will have the worst clean up over than he's ever had before! It means more money for him but this is just rediculas!! I guess I'm through venting. Thanks, guys, for your patience.

I wonder?
I wonder what is wrong with renters! My husband has gone out of his way to help the landlord across the street to make everything extra nice for these renters, inside and out, and they just don't seem to want to take care of anything! Just before it got cold he went over and put insulation, etc under the house to keep the pipes from freezing. He layed the heavy, large piece of plywood over that, like it had been done for years, and their 2 large dogs have torn it out. They walk right by it every night when coming home and didn't do anything about. My husband finally went over this morning and fixed it up again. I've heard them say several times that "the landlord will just take care of it" about anything that might need fixed, etc. Landlords would like to MAKE some money, not alot, so they can keep ahead a little on the house for NECESSAY repairs and improvements. From what we've seen of their care, lawn, and keeping things picked up, etc., it makes us wonder what the inside looks like. What's wrong with people who rent nice homes and take advantage like this?

Junie that is why we have an open soap box, it's good to vent on issues like these... it may not solve it but it sure makes the spirit in us all stand up
