Need Information - Phoenix

It now appears I am going to accept a position in and move to Phoenix. I will be renting an apartment for the short term and, in a couple of months we will sell our house in St. Louis and my hubby will be joining me out there.

We have been looking at houses online. What we don't know if which, if any, areas of Phoenix to stay away from (i.e., crime, neighborhood in decline, etc.).

We are in our mid-50s. No kids living with us. Oh, and we're not rich -- no houses costing several thousands of dollars. We're hoping to find something as inexpensive as possible, but are prepared to go up to $200,000.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
