High Cholesterol
I have been on Zocor for three years almost 80 Mg. a day pill. I got my blood work done and it is really good 170 total and the HDL and LDL is good also. My question is why can't I get off the pill. It has been good for three years and it is my diet change I feel not the medicine. Why doesn't some doctors listen to you and take you off the medicines when you are better from eating and exercising? I just don't understand why so many doctors want to do nothing but push medicines down our throats. Please give me some answers?

My doctor told me I would be on Zocor for the rest of my life since it is hereditary. My levels are good and I personally don't want to risk high cholesterol again. I would be very dispointed. I also take 6 blood pressure meds and blood thinners and on a pace maker. I am happy science has been able to keep me going this long. Maybe in the near future we will be advanced enough to High Cholesterol for everyone. My little brother last year had a blockage and had a quad bypass. He was doing everything right and stopped felt great and stopped some of his meds.  He died this year of a heart attack. He was 56.
