Checking In!

Hi, Everyone! I haven't been here for awhile so thought I'd better check in.

I saw my doctor on May 30 and did lab. I was really surprised to find out my A1c went down to 5.8! That's progress!! In fact, my blood sugars are looking so well I need to check them only 3 times a week now.

I haven't lost any weight, as a matter of fact, I've gained some weight back. But I'm not going to let that get to me. I'm going to keep trying. Losing weight can be a very difficult thing, especially when, one is 64.

I definately need that left knee replaced so I can exercise more. I do a lot of walking around the yard checking our flowers and such but I know that isn't enough, even though, it's better than nothing at all. Sometimes, I feel like my knee is going to break. It feels like I'm walking around with a broken limb.

My specialist retired so I need to wait for my doctor to line me up with another. As soon as he does I want this thing taken care of. In the summer I need to stay inside much of the time so it's a better time to have surgery. And then I can walk, walk, walk again!

Anyway, that's the latest about me. I hope everyone else is doing good, too.

Love, Junie

Congrats

I am very pleased that your A1c went down.  That's a wonderful reading. I hope you are able to walk again soon.  It's great exercise.  I atribute the exercise in helping me.  I just had lab work done.  My HbA1c went down to 7.1 from 7.7.  It's not as good as yours but at least it's an improvement for me.  I also lost 7 pounds.  It must be the exercise.  Now I don't have to go on an injection of Byetta.  I'm so glad.  I just got my news today.

Great to hear good progress from both of you ladies!! Keep up the good work. Finally got my A1C down to 6.1 from 7.2. All it took was the doc adding another half glucophage at night!! And I've lost 12 lbs. and wasn't even trying. Gave up trying so hard and that's when it decided to come off!!!
