Re-Evaluating My Routine

Seems like everytime I try to push my exercise routine to a higher level - I get sick!  This time, it was a doozy, three weeks of coughing and bronchitis shortly after increasing my weights and adding speed/time to my elliptical workout.  Now that I have to pretty much "start over" maybe I'll re-think what I've been doing.  Sure, strength training and endurance training are important, but who am I trying to impress by over-doing it?  Instead of rushing back to the gym, I may try strapping on the pedometer and enjoying a walk at the park or the beach every day - something relaxing instead of "competitive."

Our bodies are amazing in the fact they somehow tell us when we are in need of rest.   A lot of my co workers have had bronchitis and sinus infections the past few weeks.  I wish I could enjoy a walk at a park or beach...I live on a long road that is currently being re-constructed...lots of heavy equipment...they are repaving and adding a walking trail which will be nice when its finished.  There is a cemetary nearby that I walk to...very peaceful...Its been raining here in Pittsburgh so I have been on my treadmill.  But I'd rather be outside.
Enjoy walking on the beach...
