MY BROTHER
While in Texas I accompanied my
youngest brother to the VA clinic and afterwards we went to a small
resturant for coffee. While sitting in a booth discussing his problems
and giving thanks for a VA clinic so close to home we were overheard by
a lady sitting behind my brother. As she was leaving she stopped by our
table and put her hand on my brothers shoulder. With tears in her eyes
she said "I just wanted to say "thank you" for all you have done for me
and my family". Needlessly to say she was not the only one with tears.
Afterwards my brother lookied at me and said "That is the first time I
have ever been thanked for being in the service. This day goes a long
way to wipe out the reception when I returned home from Viet Nam" We
all three shared a very special moment.
