Update on book marketing...

I want to tell you about my plans for my book, "Trout Falls Chronicles", and the second printing that will be coming out the middle of June. Janet (saved by grace) and I will be going back to the Penthouse Cabin the end of next week so she can see our summer home for the first time and to distribute the book across Upper Michigan which is our target area. I also have a book signing at an author's fair on July 21st in Ishpeming, Michigan and I am renting a booth to sell the book the same month during Ethnic Days in Republic, Michigan (my hometown)...

We are currently working on an advertising plan to promote it in a couple local papers and magazines, a visit to a radio station for an interview, a review of the book by a recognized critic and a few other ways to get it out there. We don't have alot of money to spend so we will be only printing about 250 copies to gauge the ability of it selling. It is like I am promoting myself as well as the book and it is a gamble we feel is worth the money spent. My book is a regional book which means my market is Michigan and surrounding states. It costs me about $5 a copy to get printed and my sale price is $15.95 and in most places it will be on sale, I get 60% and the store 40%. Most stores and shops will send me the checks monthly...

I am hoping to get started on my second book after 3 idea's have fizzled and it is a big concern that I do not have the drive and/or the desire to get another book written. I feel I still have the talent but it has been put on the backburner because Janet and I have recently become engaged and suffice it to say we have been distracted. We have even talked of maybe writing a book together with me doing the male part and her doing the female part. I'm not sure what is really going to happen but I wanted to let those of you in my group know what is going on and keep you all up to date...

We also hope to get some would be authors who would like help in getting their material out. 'Easy Does It' publishing company is up and running with Janet in charge of that business. If any of you would like to submit your book to us we would be more then willing to look at it and help you get it published...
