Surprise

Imagine my surprise while I'm looking at different groups, to find I'm already a member of this group!! When did I do that? Must have been one of those days that gets so bad you just have to keep popping those pain meds til you don't know who you are!

I'm allergic to morphine and codeine, so the only pain med I can take, that I know of, is Meperidine. It's a synthetic demerol. Try not to do it too often, but those days happen!!

I feel for you Grace and know exactly what you're going through. Had to have a septoplasty (straighten deviated septum) last August and had to go off arthritis meds for 2 wks. before and 2 wks. after. What a wasted 4 wks. Hurt too bad to go anywhere or do anything! At least I can breathe better now!!

Mine is osteoarthritis that I've had since teen. Had knee replacements 18 yrs. ago at 40 yrs. old, total ankle fusion 8 yrs. ago, rotator cuff on left shoulder 2 yrs. ago, and we don't count all the shots in the joints and arthroscopys before it got to the major surgery. Now my right hip, right ankle and right shoulder are running a race to see who gets major surgery first!!

I look back at my mother, grandmother and my great grandmother who were all around when I was growing up, and I remember how active they all were up into their 70's and 80's. I look around at all my friends in their 40's and 50's and everyone has so many problems it isn't funny! Makes you wonder what all that nuclear testing in the late 40's and 50's did. And what about chemical they put in the foods back then that they later found out were harmful? We're the legacy of all the experimentation!!! And who knows what else they did that we don't know about??

Enough of my soapbox, you all try to have a good day, and know there is someone out here who feels what you do and is thinking of you everytime I hurt. You are not alone!!

I'm just glad I'm not the only one

I'm down to 2 or 3 percription pain meds I can take, I'm either alergic or have an "reaction" to all the others.

Most days due to a ton of cronic pain management classes I manage to push through the day with only taking them a couple times, but days I over due, or rainy cold days .. yah I think a zombie has more brain power than I do on pain pills.

and don't you love it when people say , well You look just fine! or you did that last week!
yah I have Osteo arthritis also along with a few other things, and bone on bone joint pain is not fun!

So next time your all druggy, or hurtin like hell. just remember, your not alone, and I feel for you!
