Help in repairing a wall?
Posted On 03/08/2007 10:15:18 by wlittle1686
Mary Lou and I live in a manufactured home and, lets say, the previous owner was big on hanging things on the walls. I have no problem with this except in both bathrooms where she used what I will refer to as a double-sided sticky, rubber block. I understand their purpose. . .to keep the picture, mirror or whatever you hung level. My problem is this: how to remove them from the walls without marring the finish. Sounds simple right? Here's the problem: since this is a manufactured home the walls are a cross between the fabric walls you would see in an office cube and drywall or particle board and, just to make it really interesting, the walls in both bathrooms have a wallpaper-type finish on them. Any ideas on how to repair these?

Walter,

I have used this stuff called Goof Off and it works great, it will take a little time because you will only be able to do a little at a time, working from the outside in, but it will get it off, let me know how it works for you.

Hey Kat,

Sounds like what I find out might be of benefit to both of us!

Sorry, I don't. I have the same problem. I live in a mobile home and the walls are what looks like wood panneling, only it is paper over lay. The bathrooms also have wall paper, but over the wood panneling, and when I tried pulling the yucky wall paper off, the paper over the panneling came with it. So now I am left with peeling paper both from the wall paper and the paper on the wood panneling.
