Changing jobs
Posted On 09/25/2007 08:11:22 by Lorie
I have been at my job at the high school for 10 years now. I used to love being a lunchlady, but the last couple of years have been stressful. This one worse than any of the the others. The head cook has been on this power trip and she is making everyone's life miserable. So, when the Media Tech Facilitator job came open, I applied for it. I had to pass both a typing test and a ParaPro test to do it, but I did. I got the call this morning-the job is mine.

Now comes the hard part-telling my boss.

Good for you! I would just tell your boss the reason you are leaving, and be gone. I hope you enjoy your new job!

Gee that should not be a hard part. I always just came out and said I was leaving. Of course I have always been in command of myself when doing things. Left a job back in 71 that was offering me 15.00 a week raise but I wanted 25. or was walking. They called my bluff and in 2 weeks I was gone. They even told me as I was handing in the keys that I wasn't leaving. That was a lot of money at that time. But as I closed the managers door I told him hope you have someone here tomorrow morning in my place and walked out never to return. Regrets? Yea at times but not enough to fret it. Spent years on the road as a O.O. trucking and never once regretted it. Just be courtious and friendy when you tell her and if she wants to argue keep walking out the door after your goodbyes to others.
