More Dollies in the news...the plot thickens
Posted On 07/18/2008 06:58:14 by Sharkfin

Yesterday I spoke of the Black Sorority Barbie…Today’s story sums it all up. There was a reason for all the hoopla. Mattel’s rival company MGA apparently took market shares away from Mattel with a doll called the Bratz doll a multiethnic hip hop fashion doll. Mattel fought rival MGA Entertainment Inc for ownership of the multiethnic, hip-hop-inspired fashion dolls, which have snared substantial market share from Mattel's Barbie since Bratz launched in 2001. All this over a doll. Big money it seems. I am waiting for the dolls to come out with the guys pants hanging down with his boxers showing…You know I just don’t get that craze yet and will never get it. To me it looks like they just got off the nest…I give up. Oh the nest for those who don’t do Marty’ism’s on a daily basis is the toilet seat.

Have a Fabulous weekend, go out and contribute to the new doll craze…yeah right!

A huge hug and umpteen pats

Marty

Speaking of Barbie - this version will be released in September 2008:

Ummmm....dressed in fishnet hose and leather????

Melody....you WERE on to something yesterday....Looks like Matell is having some complaints from people who say this is not a good doll for young girls and that it looks like it could be called "S & M Barbie."  [doll is called Black Canary Barbie, based on a cartoon character]

unfortunately, there is still a culture that is still wearing the thongs above the low rise pants and the men with baggies and crotch at their knees. These people have no mirrors. The 250 lb women look like a can of popped biscuts, the men like Gumby!

You know, I love fashion. It totally changes all the time as you said this too will pass…however…so trends do as well. I think the sixties stayed in the sixties…with a few hippie types carrying on for decades. I think people tend to live in their own fashion forever once they find a suitable look. The pants on these guys hanging off them with boxers showing and their wand just merrily a speck of cloth away from peeking out…is totally discussing. I remember when gals used to wear the thong exposed up over the hip huggers, thank god for the big gals taking that trend and changing the minds of those did that to no longer do that. It’s funny when some see how some look in it…they quit it…. But apparently the dudes with the trousers shorts three sizes to big hanging don’t give a good rats rear….

I always thought women the butt watcher ones loved seeing a guy with a great backside in great looking dockers or jeans…but perhaps the gals now just like seeing size 44 shorts on a 34 butt and polka dotted or paisley styled boxers…

Bratz are very popular, I have 3 grandaughters and I too wonder about the so called fashion but I also remember my grandmother shaking her head at my fashion choices in the 60's. This too will pass and I can't wait. Hope the alternative is not worse!
