There is no way to truly pay tribute to every single solider, so while I wrote this in memory and tribute of Cody Grater it is also intended for every solider who has paid the price for our freedoms. Please copy and paste the above link into your browser!

There are heroes here among, us

who give to us each day,

commitment pride and honor

on who's tomb stones we do lay

- a wreath of many flowers -

a written word or prayer,

many silent tear drops left,

by those who are still here.

These heroes are our solider's

they walk with on war torn grounds

- many miles from homeland,

to keep our freedom bound.

These solider's so committed,

so loyal and so true,

it makes no difference if their uniforms

are khaki tan or blue.

They stand for peace and freedom,

and when they give their life,

it's up to each and every one of us,

to recognize their strife.

I'm finally home, I'm laid to rest,

I've given America my very best...

and all I ask for in return,

remember me and what I earned.

Thank you Margo,

I am very deeply committed to our solider's. I hate this war, and all wars. Yet I know what has been started cannot just be stopped at will. Every day I write to a solider or to a family member. I offer my encouragement, and sadly I all to often must offer my deepest of sympathy to family, friends and loved ones of those who gave their all for us.

I currently have a friend who is only a couple of years younger then me, in Iraq and I worry about him. I send cards and care packages and lately it is less and less that I hear back and that is the frightening part.

I pray that we can find a way to end this war, to bring about peace.
