menapause

you have premenapauseal symptoms or menapauseal if youre periods have stopped but have night sweats and not much can be done about the night sweats but they do get less when youre menapause actually starts and im 52 and just started menapause my gyocologiets did a d and c on my uterus to stop the periods and that worked and i feel good from it. the runs is part of it too althought it can be from medicine for stomach problems too. good luck its lots of fun but its not good for womens bodies. take c are and thank god and bless you all . lynsee cain leah

Leah, I'm not having the night sweats. I'm having it on and off all day long. I stopped bleeding years ago. The Doctor did not say anything about menopause though. Mary Lou

premenopause

i started premenopausal symptoms in my early 40s not long after the death of my Mom. i'm now 64, and still have hotflashes/night sweats at times. they were the first symptoms that i noticed, and bothered me more than anything else. my ob/gyn dr. put me on hrt therapy; that was before the study came out that indicated it could cause strokes. when i was in my late 50s, i had a mild stroke; the dr. i've been seeing since then has taken me off hrt therapy, so i have to suffer through whatever symptoms i still have. i was in my late 50s-early 60s when my menstraul cycles quit happening.

I talked to the Doctor

I talked to 2 Doctors about being pregnant or being in menopause and they both said I couldn't be pregnant because I didn't have my period any more. But they agreed that I am in menopause. I'm still having those hot flashes. And they said you could have the hot flashes for 20 years. I hope this doesn't last that long!! Mary Lou

Am I in menopause?

I guess I am in menopause. I'm 57 and am having the sweats for no apparent reason. I have had it for 3 weeks. This is terrible. I feel miserable. On top of that I have been having the runs. I don't seem to have a fever. My blood sugar hs been normal or high and it hasn't been low very often. Usually not when I'm hot. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?? My husband thinks or wishes I'm pregnant. I had my flu shot about 4 weeks ago. I am having trouble brething. When I went to the hospital, they said it's my COPD. I was having the hot flashes then. And I have been to the Doctors and have been put on antibiotics. But I still have the hot spells. What can I do?? Mary Lou

Sleep Apnea ??

Well I still have the hot flashes and now when I have a headache and I have the hot flashes I check my blood sugar.  Often it is low.  I am trying to set up a sleep apnea test.  I had the stress test Monday, nothing wrong with my heart.  But during it they gave me oxygen because I didn't have agood reading on my oxygen level.  They suggested I have that test.  So I'll let you know what those results are.
