Christmas memories
I remember one year we had the aluminum christmas tree in the living room of the house. It was one of those where the colored wheel would go around and change the color of the tree. Just happened we were at home and smelt some plastic burning. Went into the room and the colored wheel had stopped going around and the light had melted onto one of the colors. Last time we used that tree.

CHRISTMAS IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS
WHEN I WAS YOUNG MY MOTHER BAKED GOODIES FOR A WEEK AND THE SMELLS WHERE WONDERFUL. GOING ON A SLED RIDE PLAYING IN THE SNOW, WE DIDNT FEEL THE COLD. HAVING A NEW DOLL UNDER THE TREE.MAYBE GETTING TO BUY A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR SOMEONE, THIS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE.GETTING UP EARLY AND SEEING THAT SANTA CAME.HAVING A BIG DINNER WITH FAMILY. NOW WE DONT GET ALONG AND EVERYONE IS GONE AWAY. THE LIGHTS AND MUSIC. GOING TO CHURCH AND SEEING BABY JESUS IN THE MANGER. WHAT A FUN TIME THE GOOD OLD DAYS WERE. NOW WE START THE HOLIDAYS RIGHT AFTER HALLOWEEN AND WE ARE SO BORED BY THE TIME CHRISTMAS GETS HERE

None
when growing up Christmas was a awesome time with my family. My parents always had a train going around the tree and they never put the tree up till after my sister had gone to bed on christmas eve. Nothing like it is today, now christmas almost starts before halloween is over let alone thanksgiving.

We always had to eat breakfast firt lol and my daughter to this day does it with her children and they we hit the living room and started opening our gifts . Most of the time I think life was more simpler back there, now adays christmas is to much of a commerial for me and kids now adays want so many things that are so pricely that i dont see how some families do it .

But i can say all of my christmas's was great

That's funny about the color wheel melting into the tree. I could see that happening. We had one of those at work in the early eighties. It was pretty though. My husband said he had one when he was young that you could just pull it out of the box and set up the wheel. Simple and easy for a bachelor, and didn't take up much space in the closet. I think if they still made those I'd be tempted to buy one since we don't have any kids at home any more and it's just the two of us. Simple and easy sounds good to me.
