Josh and Pa-Pa
Hey Everybody, C2c invited me to join this group, and I thought I'd start off by telling a story on my son, Josh. As soon as he could talk, Josh was able to express himself very well. Josh and my dad were very close, and he loved to spend time with "Pa-Pa" more than anything. One day, I left Josh with my dad for the day. Now, let me set the scene. Josh was about 3 years old. My dad was already retired, but my mom still ran her own business. So dad did all the errand-running, and grocery shopping. Now, in this small town, there were only 2 grocery stores. Dad made it his business to know that "This" was 2 cents cheaper here, and he could get "That" at the other store cheaper. It was like a military mission, to make sure he didn't get screwed at either store. Anyway, it was grocery-day, and Josh loved going to the grocery store with Pa-Pa. They got home, got everything carried in, and were putting things up. Dad was putting some things in the (bottom) cabinet by the sink. Josh saw a can of something that he knew belonged in there too. So, he picks it up, carries it over, and sets it on the floor with the other cans. But, when he bent over, he cracked his head on the edge of the cabinet door, and cracked it pretty hard. Dad picks him up, carries him to a chair, and is trying to look at his eyes, to make sure they match, so he knows he doesn't have a concussion. Now, my dad could never stand to see Josh cry. So, to try and distract him from the pain, he asks Josh if he wants some pop to drink, to which Josh replies . . . "NO, PaPa, I think I'd better wait until I get my eyes untangled!!!" That tells me that he really must've been seeing stars!!! Sharon
