my chronic issues
Hi Laurie,

I'm so sorry about the MS..and happy that for now you're doing well with it!! :) :)

Hmm, where to start with me. While at work in 1998 I tore the meniscus in my right patella (kneecap). It started subluxating and dislocating. The following year I developed blood clots in every vein in my right leg and had a clot in my lung (second clot=lifetime Coumadin). Due to the extensive clots, developed postphlebetic syndrome in my right leg. I then had a bout of severe pneumonia with an empyema (pus pocket) which required a small chest tube to drain it..however it was so thick that they had to put in TPA several times. Since that I've been on oxygen as it left permanent scarring on my lung. Then my asthma, which hadn't been a problem for 20+ years flared and have been on Prednisone since mid 2006 which has put on a MASSIVE amount of weight :( Due to the Prednisone, I developed diabetes. Oh yes, it goes on and on..

What meds do you take, Laurie? Anything for pain?

K.

New Here
Kandra; I was diagnosed with MS in 1999. I'm doing pretty good. What is your story, if you don't mind sharing.

MS is a debilitating disease that is incurable. It forms lesions on your brain that can affect any part, organ, activity...

I'm blessed that I only have numbness, and balance issues.

Sorry for your troubles
It sounds like you've had some real problems to deal with. It sounds awful. Seems like the more they do to you the more they make it worse. I had pneumonia and it was awful and painful. They said if I get it again there is nothing they can do for me. I used the last antibiotic that would work on me. I think maybe they were just trying to scare me in to not smoking. I did quit, went back and now I quit again. It's been a year now.

I take many meds for the MS and also for depression. I take hydocodone for the acute pains I get and that works. I get some horrendous pains and come and go when they please.
