Paul finally gets rid of Mills!
From today's newspaper:
A judge in London granted a preliminary divorce to Paul McCartney and Heather Mills on Monday. If no one objects the divorce will be final in 6 weeks. Mills will emerge from the divorce with a setttlement of $47 million but with a reputation damaged by her televised outbursts against Paul. Neither McCartney or Mills were in court for the hearing but in the hearing in March Mills emptied a pitcher of water on McCartney's lawyer Fiona Shackleton which made Mills look like a shrew. Mills will retain custody of their child Beatrice and Paul will retain the bulk of his fortune.

I don't understand why they have to wait to see if someone objects. If someone objects, do they have to stay married? That would be weird!

Yeh that is a bit strange. Who knows? Like when a couple is getting married they ask if anyone objects and I have never heard of anyone ever doing that.
