I work actually not far from O'steens. I haven't been there in years. I will have to check it out

My husband and I recently went to Sarasota, and there is a place called Walt's that is really good. Its like a fish market and the atmosphere is ultra-casual, but the seafood is awesome with very generous servings.

Also, in Jacksonville, there is a Greek restaurant called the Athens Cafe that is really, REALLY good. Not terribly expensive, food is to die for, service is wonderful, and the atmosphere is very comfy.

In Daytona, we like the Starlite Diner on Atlantic Blvd. and Booth's Bowery. These are both ultra-casual places but the food is good and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

I have a few favorite places in St. Augustine. Gypsy Cab is my all time favorite, casual mid priced restaurant. I also love the Beachcomber on A St. St. Augustine Beach, especially for breakfast on the beach. The Columbia is nice on St. George St. for Spanish Cuisine, and the Casa Monica if you want to dress up and go out on the town. There is also a new place on St. George St. called Sangrias that has the best Sangria...lots of different flavors to choose from and Tappas. One thing about being middle aged boomers we know all the best places to eat and drink...

While in St. Augustine, Don't forget to try South Beach Grill at Crescent beach ramp.

I too love the beachcomber. Breakfast is great right out there and its nice to watch the sunrise.

I also love the Conch House. Albeit pricey but the ambiance is Terrific.

I don't know how I forgot the Conch House. Actually my daughter works there. But I absolutely agree with you. It is a great place. It really makes you feel like you are in the islands.
