Pilot 'breakdown' diverts flight
An Air Canada flight made an emergency landing in Ireland after a pilot apparently suffered a mental breakdown.
A passenger said the pilot was carried from the plane shouting and swearing, saying he wanted to talk "to God".
The flight from Toronto to Heathrow landed at Shannon airport after its crew declared a medical emergency. Passengers flew on to London later.
Air Canada has confirmed that a crew member was unwell, but did not confirm he was suffering mental problems.
"At no time were the safety of the passengers or crew in question," said an Air Canada spokesman.
"The flight was met by medical personnel and the individual is now in care."
Eight-hour delay
One of the passengers, Sean Finucane, said he saw the co-pilot being carried into the cabin in restraints.
"He was very, very distraught. He was yelling loudly at times," he told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
"He was swearing and asking for God and very distressed. He basically said he wanted to talk to God."
Passengers were put up in hotels while another crew was found. They eventually arrived in London eight hours late. Story from BBC NEWS: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/2/hi/americas/7217977.stm
The Indiana State Wage & Hour Department claimed he was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent out to interview him.
"I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them," demanded the agent.
" Well," replied the farmer, "there's my farm hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board.
The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $150 per week plus free room and board.
Then there's the half-wit who works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally."
That's the guy I want to talk to --- the half-wit," says the agent.
Please watch this and then share the information with your family and friends who have children in the house. I believe, last time I was buying a smoke alarm/CO detector, the ones with voice are already on the market.
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through and you'll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decades' worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia" (Charles Schultz)
1. Make CHRIST the center of Christmas. He wants your life not your stuff. Sing and worship. Read the real Christmas story. Brag about God. Spend time with Him for his gift! Jesus!
2. Guard against offenses. Christmas has become one of the most stressful times of the year. The word “offense” comes from a Greek word meaning “bait”. Don’t bite the devil’s bait. Give people the benefit of the doubt and be quick to forgive, especially those you love.
3. Beware of the sale and catalog trap. Many retailers mark up their prices up to 300% profit before they offer you the “80% off” price. If it is not on your list, don’t buy. Before you spend, consider that bills will come due in January! Most of us don’t need a miracle but a little bit of self-control. Focus on home made stuff! Love is not expressed in the price tag.
4. Spend time not money. Kids will forget the memory of the latest gadget but the time spent on playing with them, setting up a Christmas tree together, drinking hot chocolate by the fire, reading a Christmas story … will create a life-long memory. Money can’t buy it! but you can make it real!
5. Take time for yourself. Relax and enjoy the season. Pay attention to what you eat and drink. Your mood will greatly depend on this. Enjoy the food in a way that will not disappoint you getting on the scale on January 2nd. Remember, you are responsible for aspects of your own happiness!
6. Spread the JOY of Christmas. When something wonderful happens we should tell others about it. Millions of people have never heard about the first Christmas. No greater gift can you give to Christ than to cause someone to hear the Gospel. Think about a gift to a mission field that's close to your heart. No matter how small, every little bit counts.
7. Have a wonderful, merry Christmas!

(A Frank Lozano Production) We have had a lot of requests to replay the phone call that Pastor Mike shared during our church service on Sunday, Nov. 11th, 2007.
Here you'll find the video clip that was created just for you. We've placed the video on YouTube so that you can watch it and share with family and friends.
Logan is a 13 year-old boy who lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. Logan listens to Christian Radio station 89.3FM KSBJ which broadcasts from Houston, TX. Logan called the radio station distraught because he had to take down a calf . His words have wisdom beyond his years.
Since airing the audio of the phone call and now the making of the video clip, it has taken on a life of its own. People are forwarding it all over the world. We encourage you to share the love of Christ with anyone you can.
