Been a hectic week so far! My ex-husband, my daughter’s father, passed away last Friday. He was only 64. His platoon in Vietnam was sprayed with Agent Orange, by accident, and he developed diabetes from it. Never could keep control of it. Man had 3 Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts from Nam. The viewing was Tuesday and the funeral was yesterday. He has 12 sisters and 2 brothers and we won’t even count all the cousins, nieces and nephews. Some had to come from out of town. Shelly had her moments, but for the most part she has become a strong woman and took care of everything that needed to be done. I’m so proud of her for the things she needed to and doing it with the necessary strength and determination. She’s her mother’s daughter!!!! He and I always remained friends as I have with all his siblings. I’m as much a part of the family as I ever was so it was not an easy week. Been a beautiful weekend here even if it is cold!! With a temp of 33 degrees, some of the outlying areas got their first frost this morning!! My poor friends in the fishing club. They’re doing the last campout/fishing trip of the year this weekend. If it hadn’t been for the windstorm last month blowing the window out of my van, I’d be with them!!! Had to use my savings for the trip to fix the window, so I couldn’t go!! So glad I couldn’t now!! Much as I like to camp, I’m getting to old to do it in this weather!!! Wow!! This week has really flown by! Don’t know why, haven’t been that busy! Turning really cold here. Next few nights are going to be in the high 30’s already! I’m definitely not ready for this! News reports are confirming what I’ve been thinking, that Fall colors around here are not going to be all that great because we’ve been so dry this summer and so far this Fall.
