Be Alert

 Be alert to vultures lurking about to scavenge the broken pieces of your heart. They appear in layers slowly peeling away until your eyes can see. Kind and attentive to your needs…allowing you to fall…then they peck at the jagged edges that were left behind by others. Lost you grasp for what is perceived to be a savior…but indeed is the devil with holy cloth. Slowly…slowly eating away…undermining you and hoping to unravel the frazzled frays of leftover bounty. Your defenses shield you and words escape the bowels of your soul…trying to protect what’s left…and chastised for speaking out. Forgive the lost and lonely soul that decries their patterned life…and seeks refuge from life’s evil, wicked ways. They crawl first to find their place…only to have society knock them back down. Slowly they move…gently they climb…and one day they embark on the mountain of truth…and then they triumph. Hail to the hearty…
