Sleep Paralysis
Posted On 05/12/2008 12:54:16

Sleep Paralysis, Night terrors, a visit from some Demon or the Devil himself? Alien abduction. Nothing in any of those words to comfort us when it happens to us, or someone we love. So many researchers will just write it off to something paranormal, even a prelude to a possession. I usually am the one who says don't just write thing off to some logical, or scientific, debunking. I understand that all orbs are not spirits but all dust or moisture or pollen are not always the only explanation. Sometimes it might just damn well be a spirit.

Sleep paralysis however gets way too much paranormal press. Stories like; All I could move was my eyes, it was as if something was draining my battery! I couldn't move, and the spirit energy was right there and I could feel it sucking the life out of me, so that it could materialize. I was taken to a space ship and probed! OK maybe once in a while this could be the case. But for most and I mean most! Are explainable if we understand the different degrees of sleep.

I am going to name these for our purposes of this article, some of the different degrees will be listed under the correct names but some might be my words.

The first would be Day dreaming, a condition that takes us into a dream like state if only for a second but still allows us to function completely, maybe not at full speed and a little distracted but still capable to snap out of it and move on!

The second state is functional, have you ever pulled into work, home, or anywhere else, and thought how the hell did I get here? You can rack your brain but you can't remember one instance of your trip! (some people do this too often)

The third is unwinding sleep, this one gets slipped over too much because we are exhausted, and go right past it. For me this is where I visualize the problems of the day and slowly let them go. Either by releasing each situation or visualizing how I want to kill the ones who really need it!!! LOL! Just kidding calm down!  It is a great place to go as you meditate.

Fourth is a deep sleep but still one we can be wakened out of! Kinda like that adage sleeping with one eye open! This is the one where people with sleep apnea's wills have our breathing or sometimes our heart beat stop, and it throws up to that "jumped straight up" thing we do sometimes.

Next is the true sleep REM sleep. Rapid Eye Movement! This is where we actually have our minds shut off all our functions, but our brain is running wide open. Except for breathing, and our organs was are in a state of paralysis, we are shut down for repairs. This paralysis is explained as a body function that occurs so we don't act out on our dreams! This is where involuntary astral projections occur. Since you are already in a state of paralysis, and you slip out of your body, you can very well see someone there. This is where we believe this is a demon sucking everything out of us. When it could be one of your spirit guides who is just chatting with you. It can feel like an attack. If someone like a child's Mother, was to witness this, it could be seen a an attack. And very scary!

If this happens the best way to keep your sanity, is to concentrate on moving one finger or toe, not everything at once. As you wake up you will be able to move the finger than everything else. If you are witnessing this function, don't panic! use the calmest voice you can find so that the child or person isn't scared to death. If this doesn't occur we will slip back into the fourth state of sleep then the third and so on and so on. That if course is in a perfect world! Smilin...

It is quite possible for 2 people to have this happen while in bed together so again, don't freak! If you were talking about someone who just died, or a movie, or book then go to sleep it is possible for both to be in or near the same place. Since most married people never do any of these things you might not have to worry. I have had discussions with many people who saw a dead loved one during a time when they had just died, this could be the wraith and not paralysis.

It is with a cool head we can figure things out! Do the best you can as it happens, but if you can't find a calmness then try to just pray. I would rather wake up seeing someone praying over me than looking like I'm dead!! And remember not all of this type of behavior can be written up to biological functions. Some people have had abductions and later found what seem to be tiny transmitter's implanted

Years ago there was a theory (that became a fad) on what was called transcendental  meditation. This led to out of body experiences. Then it was believed that there was a silver thread, or cord that was the bread trail back to your own body. It was feared that if someone was to wake you too fast or jerk you this thread could be broken. This led to a possible explanation for some catatonic patients. Remember as we evolve things change, but some of the old thinking could still be out there, truly scaring some into not wanting to be part of it any more. Unfortunately once the door is open you cant just keep it shut, so some of these folks are prime candidates for off base experiences, like everything is out to get them now!             ;

Another home remedy or 2

Remember that blog I wrote about how to keep house flies out of your house and how to keep your banana's from becoming a home for hundreds if not Thousands of fruit flies? Well here is another one!

Are you tired of those lingering coughs, and chest congestion, that don't let us sleep very well. There is an answer to Nyquil, without the drowsiness, and who wants to give your Children or Grand children all that drug! I have shared this with about 10 family and friends who all say it allowed them sleep a lot better, and wake up feeling like something was working on their cold all night long. Vicks Vaporub, Most of us had that rubbed on our chest as kids, and those of you who might be old enough to remember it is a menthol vapor rub. Works kinda like Vicks cough drops. Here is the twist, apply it to the bottoms of your feet, and cover with (white) socks, and go to bed. It is a biological fact that if you rub Garlic on your soles, within 10-15 minutes you will have Garlic Breath. That being known, this vapor rub get really deep and doesn't rub off like it did on your chest.

While I don't think this is a cure for anything, is has worked consistently, with the people I know and so far that is from a 2 yr. old - a 70 (something man) with pneumonia, while he was on antibiotics this offer some relief. Just so we are clear I say Vicks so you know what I mean, Any store brand will do the same thing.

Steve

I got this one from Vicky in WI who most of us know and love so I wanted to add it too! Vicky said she hasn't tried it yet as there is 7 ft of snow outside her house, not too many mosquitos are hungry during that! If it doesn't work you might get a lot do compliments on your breath so it has some merit anyway!!

Thanks Vicky!!

Subject: Fw: Mosquitoes Listerine!

Not sure if this really works, but it can't hurt to try it. Vicky

The best way of getting rid of mosquitoes is Listerine,
the original medicinal type. The Dollar Store-type works,
too. I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs
were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party
sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the
little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a
4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat
whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked
as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the
area around the food table, the children’s swing area,
and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I
don’t leave home without it.....Pass it on.
------------------

OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS:
I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works -
in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target
and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a
big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of
spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this,
please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a
wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame.
Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog
house if you have one.....hey, that would sure freshen up a dog house:)

who's coming to Christmas at your house
Posted On 12/24/2007 08:50:35
Imagine what it was like just 20 years ago. We almost had to go over the river and through the woods, for holidays. We have so much more available to us today, in the way of communication. Today we don't think of calling someone in another part of the country or even another country, and chatting the night away. I remember long distance costs of $.30 a minute (and that was a good price).

Then along came the Internet, remember all the relationships that broke up when someone who was truly bored with a marriage would meet someone on line, and what seemed to be a whole new side to life blossomed. I saw a few of my friends crushed by this same thing. I'm not sure if the folks who did it were doing something just to hurt the other, but they sure did. For all I know there might be lots of this going on today still.

What has also evolved is groups like this one, where we can flirt, joke, and be down right serious on just about any topic. Do I want to marry most of the women I meet? Well Hell yes, at least at first!!! I, or any of us, can fantasize about this person typing these words to me, just me! I have no idea what someone looks like until they send me a picture, and even then you really don't know if this is really who you are talking to. It's a fantasy remember!! I hope you do remember that before breaking up with your loved one, or selling everything to make the (wrong) move of a lifetime.

Well once I get over the "'I love her" part, I love to read and write and sometimes even talk on the phone to this person or persons. Usually having met on a group you belong to you have some common interests other than finding your soul mate. I can tell you that we are truly friends, closer because of the Internet, which allows us to visit when we can, and not miss much.

Through out the year we have several holidays that fit very nicely into our Internet lives. Halloween, Wow this seems to be the one made for the online friends. Not to many of us would have time to meet as a group to tell stories, or look at the findings of someone's investigation, things like EVP's, photos, and someone's personal experiences. Hell we have to work, decorate the house, give out treats, parties, haunted house, hay rides to get that perfect pumpkin!!! Once all is caught up, and we have a few minutes for us, we can go to our group and listen (EVP's), view (photos), read of experience, both old and new. We do this at our leisure, maybe 2:00 AM, what does it matter everyone else in the group is asleep. Some of us start sending the Halloween emails, and downloads out a month early, extending the season as much as Walmart does! Great online holiday!!! Maybe the best! I think (at least for me).

Christmas is number 2, on the best online holidays. Along about Thanksgiving we get up from the holiday meal and get ready for the shopping season. Not me remember the kamikaze shopping trip I wrote about? Lots of us find the holiday backgrounds, and start shaking the dust off the decorations in out attics. We also shake out the holiday emails we got last year, wanting to add some new too but the old stuff goes out right away. Poems, songs, videos, wonderful stories, Letters from soldiers that put a lump in my throat.

The biggest difference between Halloween, and Christmas is, I can get by on not meeting all my friends for the scary part. This the holiday I want to get together with all of you, to hug, and laugh, and sample all the personal recipes that are only brought out of the closet once a year for Christmas. I would say to sing songs, but you got a better chance of seeing god (tonight) than hearing me sing!!! I would chant if you bring a drum!! Well that's another story!

I want you wish you the best holidays that I can wish for you. Not all of us celebrate Christmas in a religious way, but the fun of giving, and to see the magic in a young kids eyes, makes me ponder why this is getting to be something no one wants to talk about? I know the history of the season, and yes, Yule, and Hanukkah, are a lot older celebrations than (our) Christmas. At least the Christmas I'm talking about. Christian celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25 th, but he was not born anywhere near that date. I say celebrate it however you choose!!! I just see something come over a lot of people this time of the year! Well, once you get in the mall out of the traffic!! Or maybe it should be called Death race 2007.

Remember our Soldiers, and our loved ones and friends who are dealing with sickness, loneliness, or maybe having to spend the holiday at some ones side who is need!!

Bake that family heritage recipe, that Grandma left you, and trust me she will smell it an come a running!!! I feel the most family activity during these holidays, so if you are alone get out he stuff you kept from each love one who has crossed over! They got time to visit!

Merry Christmas, Merry Yule, Happy Hanukah, Have a safe and wonderful day!!!

Do you have some long handed down tradition, or recipe that only gets used this time of the year? I would love to hear about it, I think times like that draw us closer as a family too even across the miles.

My family, continues a tradition that started after the death of our Dad. We used to meet at Moms on Christmas Eve, Have refreshments (those dishes and cakes that everyone calls their specialty) Gift are exchanged, mostly for the kids, but this is that one day of the year no one has an excuse for not coming. All our differences aside we have a great evening, then go to out individual families for the opening of Santa's gifts!!!

I wish I could be with you to share in this festive time, but this email will be what I used to fill a chair in your Christmas.

Merry Christmas, Etc.

Are they Ghosts
Posted On 12/07/2007 00:11:13
I'm not sure if any one else see this phenomenon or not, but it has happened in the town I live in for years. It's like a scene out of the Shining, but is as real as I am.

A normal year has 365 day's in it, unless it is leap year, but it still happens on those years too. It has to be mystical, almost spiritual possession, at least in my case. There is no rhyme or reason for it other than a spiritual take over. Each year it is occurs on a different day of the week, doesn't matter if it is a full moon. Rain or shine, warm or cold, it comes anyway. Speaking strictly for myself (this might be one of those secrets) I feel it during the day but as the day moves to evening, the urge is so strong it would be hard to fight, not that I would want it to. For years I didn't pay much attention to it, but then I noticed the same faces each year. These are not people I knew, from anywhere else, just this mysterious gathering. No one is doing anything weird, there is almost a party mood. People who normally never speak are throwing up their hands, welcoming me like I was part of reinforcements to starving troops.

For a while it was hard to get a bearing on this (weird) gathering, as not everyone you see is part of it. I can only say it happens at the place I am drawn to, it might happen in other places but I feel the draw to my spot.

What is it? Kamikaze Christmas shopping!!!! I named it that because I have only one mission, and depending on the crowd this could become dangerous. Who is entering my body, and the bodies of others causing me to go to this meeting? I have written it off as the Ghost of Christmas! For 20+ years, on Christmas Eve. I venture to the local Mall, on a mission, one that could be easily avoided with just a little more planing.

I have never been someone who reads between the lines, hints don't get through. I need clear directions on what to buy everyone for Christmas. Other holidays you will be shopping for one or two, but on this day you have to (or want to) give, give, give! So did I pay attention to the hints thru out the year? I can't remember what I had for supper yesterday. That is the beauty of this gathering, this seems to hit many men at the same time each year, and the only place I ever see them is at the Mall, December 24th. any year! When I walk into the Hallmark store you will see guy who you have no idea who they are holding up cards telling you to come look at this one!!!!

The mission that Kamikaze shopping hinges on getting whatever you can for under the tree. Yes it would be lovely to get something really wanted, but usually there is not much left. I could be at Sears and a voice over the loud speaker says 10 left we have slashed the price, (again, who cares what it is). So (again depending on the crowd) you might have to dive bomb into a table to get you share of the spoils. Wrong size, or color? Who cares, they can take it back!

Very few rule at a time like this, but the main one is NO CORDS for the lady in your life. Buying something with an electric cord on it could get you thrown over side upon landing back on the carrier. Jewelry is a safe bet, but I still think this is what seems to fill up her jewel box with stuff she didn't have the heart to tell you it was junk and smiles and has a great day anyway, as long as there was no electric cords!

Lately I have been wondering if these men are ghosts? I would say there are anywhere from 75 - 100 guys you feel like you know on this mystical night, so how is it I never see them again until next Christmas eve? It might be interesting to take a camera and see if these guys are solid or just a wisp of Ectoplasm. A word of caution most of these guy look like construction worker so picture might get you killed!!!!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy winter solstice, and for those of you who have no belief in a Creator, Have a nice day!

why the paranormal
Posted On 11/24/2007 18:03:44
What is it that attract us to the paranormal? Is it finding the scientific proof that would change the facts as well as peoples thinking? My answer is no, it would be great to stumble onto something that would allow us to have actual facts. I think that when this happens it won't be some big University, or government funded group won't be the ones to find it but they will surely take the credit.

A long time ago a man said " Hell, there are no rules hereâ€"we're trying to accomplish something" That was Thomas Edison, who is thought of to be the inventor of the light bulb. In 1809 a fellow named Humphry Davy invented it, it was 1879 when Thomas Edison invented the first practical light bulb. Through out the 70 years there were many bulbs invented by others, but it was Edison who we all learned about. I liked his quote "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward." Keep that in mind when you are feeling like this might be a lost cause. My point here is that even if you do discover the truth, most likely you won't be the one who is written in the history books!

I started investigating in 1970, things have changed since then, but mostly in people's attitudes with those things that go bump in the night (or day). I think that the one most asked question in all those years has been. Why can't I find anything? My first response would be to stop looking with your eyes, and use you vision, stop listening with you ears and use your hearing, or stop waiting for something to slap you in the butt, and use your sensory feelings. Even scents would not be smelled through your nose, but the memory of a scent.

It has been a myriad of things that have us looking for something paranormal in what usually turns out to be the wrong places. Urban legends, Ghost stories, books that were written that (although a novel) we can see some familiar about the haunted site we are looking into. Try to remember that most of these are someone's imagination. If we use the techniques that have been used before as a base to start with, then we can develop your own ways to do it. Remember that Thomas Edison tried over 3000 times before her was successful. Keep good records so you don't trip over the same paths. The one time we might use investigation techniques that haven't produced results, would be at a different site.

To explain that thinking, if you are at the battlefields, where massive carnage occurred, you might not find the same type of energies as you would in a home. The energies here might be where someone was murdered in their sleep, died of disease, or is simply there to tell something that was very important to them. At a battlefield you might find more confused, or scared energies, roaming around. Of course there are many other possibilities, so what didn't work for one, might work for the other.

Why do we do this? I do it because I love it, I love the urban legends, the stories, the books, and movies. I also hope that we might find the proof everyone needs, to finally accept this as fact. For me it isn't for the fame, it is for all of us to know that there is life after death and this is truly only a chapter in your life. Too many people are in this for the profit, if you truly love the paranormal don't make a living off it. Make a living doing something else, and keep this as a passion. I can go as far as to believe that most psychic's, or mediums are receiving messages. It is doubtful that they get messages from all energies, and can do it between thee commercial breaks on TV. I'm sure that time has no meaning there, so how would you commit this energy to a half hour session, or the 11 minutes between station breaks?

I never treat anyone who is investigating like they are doing it wrong. Who are we to say our's is the right way, and their's is wrong? What if science has to move forward a few steps before having the technology to discover? Go in trying to find the logical reason something is happening, and keep an open mind, listen to everything and everyone. You disseminate the info, but keep in mind that science might not have a answer just yet, to something that we are sure is paranormal. The other side of that fence, is don't discount everything we can talk ourselves out of anything. Two more steps might just be all you need to find the answers, so never give up!

Bats, Bats, and more bats
Posted On 10/04/2007 17:07:58
Well as we draw near to Halloween, the thought of Bats, Witches, ghosts and goblins is all around us. This is the time of year the thought of bats flying around is the lots of acceptable of us.

As people become more educated to different ways of thinking the word Witch doesn't bring fear to most people. In fact the US Government, (Veterans Adm.) recognizes them as a religious group!!!!! Good for you folks, some of my good friends are witches and they are warm loving people.

One of the things that bring us together in at least one part of our thinking are Ghosts. Today more and more colleges are allowing for part of their budget to go to the study of parapsychology, offering degrees in it. More and more of us are investigating, TV is loaded with shows about haunting's. This has been from education as well!

Goblins, hmmm? What is moving forward about goblins? Well they have their roots in folk lore, but I think that population is growing too. That might be a good subject for discussion some other time. Now I want to get to the main subject of this writing. BATS!!!!!

Bats!- More of us are getting educated about this nocturnal flying rodent. Trust me these animals, are welcome around my house. Earlier this year I wrote about bags of water keeping house flies out of the house, how abut a natural way to reduce the mosquito population, around you house. BATS! Yes folks each bat eats anywhere from 500- 1000 mosquito's an hour. They like to live near natural water which is a source of mosquitos, so keep that in mind. Build or buy bat houses, a very simple structure you can but on a pole, or the side of a barn, in a tree, anything at least 15 feet off the ground.

If you build a house it will in a few years become home for maybe up to 50 bats who all eat that many bugs every day. The bad thing is they will run out of food son at your house. The good thing is they will fly out a little further making a smaller population of those nasty disease carrying Vermin. The good news is they will at least some of them come back to the bat house which means as the mosquito population grows back near you house they will be there for the hunt.

Keep in mind, these little guy's aren't pets, there are some diseases they carry but if you don't handle them there is very little danger. It is possible that attracting these animals might cause you some grief. Some homeowners associations may have something in the by laws of your neighborhood. (I know this one will be hard to believe but), there might be some local laws from town to town as well. One of those towns like the one where it is only legal to beat you wife is on the steps of the State Capitol building, on Sunday morning. I won't tell you where! LOL!

If you still have that spirit that built this country, put up some bat houses! There are lots of sites on the web. here is one

This site also shows how to build purple martin houses, another great mosquito eater! check that out too.

Happy Halloween!

Is death really the end of things
Posted On 09/29/2007 18:56:45
Is death really the end of things, or is it a transformation, of life into a new higher level of life.

Have you lost a loved one recently, or went thru a break up. I'm not sure if the loss of a relationship hurts worse than the death of a loved one? Meeting someone who you eventually fall in love (or lust) with feels awkward at first, We put on our best face to show the stuff (about us) we know someone could love, or at least like. At first we have zero history, except for some possible encounter we had with this new person in our lives. We had to meet some how, was it work, at a dance, maybe you played softball and met there? It doesn't matter how, or where, what matters is that you are beginning to develop a history with this person. Something to talk about, common ground. Slowly we have both good and bad experiences, building that much desired history.

When we lose a loved one, there is a history. In fact most times you are born into some of the history from this person, and you build on it as you grow. None of that falling in love or lust, of course there is love, but a different type.

Where this gets very cloudy is, that after a break up that sense of loss, hurts so bad it might be the number one most painful experience we can have? Why does it feel like that? For most of us, a break up will leave us with lots of bad memories. Of course some of us get over that but not everyone. And yet when a loved one dies, which is a more permanent thing, than a break up. The tendency is to remember only the good things! Of course this is not he golden rule, there are plenty of people who might be glad to, or at least not very sad to, see someone go?

Let's look at the differences in them and see how the "paranormal proof" we search for so hard could be that we are missing lots of spirit to spirit communication, from some of these past history memories. Missing signals from spirit guides/ guardian angels, or what ever you think is out there helping you that can, and will help us in the mourning process, as well as getting restarted with life. (Just a general note, if there is a little devil on your shoulder telling you to shoot the EX. Try to avoid that signal!)

Think about how much time we spend looking for spirit contact. Especially after a sometimes long trip, where we spend so much money on gas, entrance fees (what a racket), babysitters, just lots of extras to find some well known destination. Prisons, Mental hospitals, Castles, or some house where mass murder occurred. What exactly are you doing it for? Oh it would be amazing to be the person who actually proves the existence of the spirit world, but is that more important than talking to your Grandma? Then there is the factions that, seek out help to contact lost loved ones! Mediums, very wealthy people thanks to those folks. Sylvia Browne $750.00 per phone reading. Her son, $450.00! John Edwards, his readings are under $500.00 per session. There is a mountain of psychic mediums lined up to take your money. The one thing I like about John Edwards is that he always say if you read the signs, you don't need me! What is the going rate for a therapist, $150.00--$200.00 per session, We are paying money to make contact to a medium, and sometimes larger money to help forget someone we wanted so bad, in our lives.

Next time you are setting there thinking how can I get involved with a group, to go investigate, or ghost hunt. Get a babysitter, load up the car with all your equipment take the car out for a long drive, Get all fired up like we do when we go look at some haunted place. Now pull up in front of your own home, or a family home, go into the living room and set up a tape recorder and simply talk to the lost love ones in your own life? Take pictures, shoot video, have a se'ance, Treat this place like any other you want to investigate. Put together a small group and do each others houses. Look for signals for me a good sign they want to talk is I can't get them out of my mind. If you could get several family members together, who share the same loss, try concentrating on the loved one or ones? Depending on how much the person who has passed over knew about who is there, it might surprise you at the responses you get.

I hear all the time from people who want to start, or find a group where they live. Until that happens for you try working with the family. I have set in on several of these family endeavors, to help direct the people who want to be involved but don't really know how to get started. Several times someone has contacted me saying that what they experienced lifted a 500 lb monkey off them as they now know we are not 100% separated from the dead.

Something you need to think about when doing this is, who was that person on this side? Do you really know who this person was? Think about it, not her as your grandma but who really was this person, do we know them, or do we only know the part of them they had left us see? That being said don't expect all the thoughts or communication to be based around your child hood experiences. You might have to ask other family members (later) to catch a response. There is something that can get a bit sticky is that persons beliefs about religion, and the here after. These folks were raised in a different time, it might seem that they have adjusted to our way of thinking but they might not. We have to remain respectful that Grandma's religious beliefs might not allow her to be as connected to this world any more. The older generations as well as many today, believe we die and if you accepted Christ you simply go to heaven. Once they figure out there might be more to the picture, this could get strange answers, or mumbling noises. Be patient, this might take some time.

Try some of this and see what happens. Write to me, and tell me what has happened you can write me if you need more ideas, or have a great idea. I would love to see what you find. Send picture, EVP's, and your comments to me:
