As I grow a little
older, I have noticed that life is like a mountain; on one side you are climbing and sometimes it is hard to reach the top. When you get to the top, you can see so many things below; where you have come from and where you are going. There at the top of the mountain are beautiful pines and mist and birds, below are unknown and exciting things to discover. The fresh air you breath mingles with the musty forest's unique fragrances and you feel renewed.
As you stand there you remember other smells. The most dominant one being the fragrance of the roses you planted in the valley. They do not grow on the top of the mountain, only in the valleys.
I have had many things happen in the past several years. Some of these things, in fact most of these things, were beyond my control. Some were even beyond my ability to understand, but the ones I remember most were little special gifts. Not significant to many, but a smile, laughter of the children, roses wafting their sweet smell my direction. Today stop and smell them in your valley. They are there, I promise. Happy Easter! I am painting and sculpting today to meet a deadline..Listening to The Celtic Woman. Love music from my native homeland, three generations before my ancestors came here from Ireland. Before Scot-Irish Rev. immigrants. Would love to talk to other people who love to "dig up dead people" {not middleaged, but really dead}...I am just beginning at 59 and love this time of my life. My body sometimes betrays me but my mind and spirit are so full of good things. Free at last! Every stage of life is an adventure and a journey into self discovery..sometimes a bumpy journey, but still a journey. I love to travel..so I just buckle up and take the ride! Glad to be on a site with folks my age
