Remembering Annette Hanshaw on Her Birthday!!!
Join Me For Coffee and Birthday Cake!
Sweetheart Annette Hanshaw was born 120 years ago October 18th 1901 in Manhattan. For us, she’s the gold standard for songbirds of the late 1920s and early ’30s; we think she’s keen. She retired after only a few years—the spotlight didn’t suit her—but what a legacy she left.
Every day, in the real world around us , real ~ life angels are doing the things they do...and bringing more smiles to the world around them...Real ~ life angels build bridges instead of walls.
They don't play hide ~ and ~ seek with the truth , they do whatever they can to help you. Real ~ life angels understand the difficulties and always give the benefit of the doubt...They don't hold other up to the standards they can't live by themselves.
Real ~ life angels are what "inner beauty" is all about...Real ~ life angels don't hold things against you; the only things they hold is you. They take their hand in yours when you could use a little reassurance. They walk beside you when you could do with a little guidance and direction in your life. And they support you in your attempts to do what is right...Real ~ ~ life angels multiply your smiles and add to your integrity. They make you feel like, "Hey, I really am somebody who matters."
Then they quietly prove to you how beautiful and true that feeling really is. If you come across an angel like this, you are one of the luckiest people of all. If someone in your life is wonderfully like a angel to you, it's important to let them know. It's the nicest compliment you could ever give. In all the days of your life and in all the years you live. Sending Angels Blessings to all. “One of God's arrangements is that after winter there should come beautiful spring days. It happens every year and it happens in every life.” - Father Joseph (Submitted by Lotus Song)....and especially selected by Carol Anne Paradis as a message that inspires us to be all that we can be!

Top 10 Things Cats Would Google (If They Could
Someone posed the question, “If cats could use Google, what would they search for?” on social media, the responses were nothing short of hilarious.
A cat using a computer
Cat lovers from all over chimed in with answers that truly captured the quirky, independent spirit of our feline friends.
Here are the top 10 responses:
1. If cats could use the internet, they would probably just upload funny memes of humans like we do with cats.
2. Why do humans bathe in water when they seem to have a perfectly good tongue?
3. Why do they keep stealing my poo?
4. Is not being fed every 2 minutes abuse?
5. What dead animal do humans like as a gift?
6. Where does my servant go during daytime?
7. Why humans are not active during night?
8. Define: pspspspspsps
9. I can see the bottom of my bowl. Will I die of starvation?
10. Meow meow memeowmeow?
The general consensus seems to be that if cats had access to Google, their searches would primarily focus on trying to make sense of the strange behaviors of their human companions/loyal servants.
PLEASE R.S.V.P. FOR MY BIRTHDAY PARTY ON OCTOBER 18TH! I'LL BE HAVING CAKE AND ICE CREAM AND, I WILL SING TO YOU!

Annette Hanshaw - Just Couldn't Say Goodbye (1933) Video clip from "Captain Henry's Showboat" (1933) with Annette Hanshaw singing "We Just Couldn't Say Goodbye". This is Annette's only appearance on film. Catherine Annette Hanshaw was an American Jazz Age singer. She was one of the most popular radio stars of the late 1920s and early 1930s, with many of her most notable performances taking place on NBC's Maxwell House Show Boat. Over four million of her records had been sold by 1934, following the peak of her popularity. In her ten-year recording career, she recorded about 250 sides. In a 1934 poll conducted by Radio Stars magazine, she received the title of best female popular singer. Second place went to Ethel Shutta, third place went to Ruth Etting, and fourth place went to Kate Smith.
“To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places — and there are so many — where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.” — Howard Zinn, You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train
