* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions will likely impact the Friday evening commute. Gusty
winds may bring down snow covered tree branches resulting in
scattered power outages. Blowing snow may reduce visibilities to
below one mile at times.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate to heavy wet snow is expected this
afternoon and evening. Peak snowfall rates of up to one inch
per hour are possible before snow changes over to rain as
temperatures rise into the mid 30s this evening. Very strong
winds are expected late tonight into Saturday with gusts of up
to 50 mph as arctic air filters in behind the system sending
wind chill values close to zero. This will cause any residual
moisture on roadways to freeze tonight, and additional snow
showers will contribute to slick conditions through Saturday.
