I teach English in a charming yet poor remote Maya pueblo among long time Maya friends and artists. Their's is a dying culture. Practices dating over 2000 years are no longer daily rituals. I am reflecting on how to record what I can. Also, my internet speeds are sloooowwww. (Warning Rant: think Carlos Slim, the richest man, in the world who owns the moribund telephone internet system that according to the LA Times is one of the most expensive and one of the CRAPPIEST phone and internet systems in the WORLD. One does not have to be a great businessman to own a monopoly and sell a crappy product and become a billionaire. He is not in the same league as a Gates. My internet speed is at 2mg and here dial up is still an option .. so It takes me hours to post so please be patient or delete I guess. I like adventure and living simple, open territory. Because of where I live, I am NEVER bored. Mine is an unexpected living ..
