in the 47 yrs I lived in Mineral Wells, we only had "tornado warnings" 3 times, with none of them touching ground, we could see them "dancing in the clouds"...but in the last 10 yrs, there's been 2 touch down and do damage...and at different times, 3 that touched down outside of the city limits that didn't do damage, all this of course is IF I'm remembering correctly...I am old! LOL

Oh my how scary that is. There seems to be a lot more tornadoes than there used be.
Hi Greg! ...my home town Mineral Wells, TX got hit hard by the tornado yesterday, we were under a tornado warning twice, (I'm ub Weatherford, by that same system, but the tornado was quick and didn't travel very far. My younger brother lives in a trailer in MW, but not in the area that got hit...thank goodness! They showed the destruction on the CBS national news this morning. The man that was a supervisor at the Ventamatic plant that got destroyed, called all his 2nd shift people and told them not to come to work that afternoon, due to the bad weather watch...he saved all those people by doing that. He stayed to lock down what he could, and left, 20 minutes after that, the tornado hit there..it had traveled across the Holiday Hills subdivision, tore up a bunch of houses there, (mostly the 2 stories homes) then to Wolters Industrial complex where the Ventamatic plant is and a lot of warehouses, then it traveled down Hwy 180 and hit the little town of Cool, Tx..but only 2 people in the houses got badly hurt, lots of low key type of injuries, and no deaths...so that's really good! The tornado was headed toward us, but played out right after it hit Cool, thank goodness!
