Depression/Anxiety?
In addition to my hydro, I have recently been diagnosed as having depression and anxiety/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. My question is whether it's considered a disability or not? It's beating my down physically. . .but I'm not sure whether that is the depression/anxiety or the medication that I'm on to treat it. The biggest problem seems to be tiredness and fatigure. I can get eight good hours of sleep, but after a few hours I'm worn out and usually after lunch it take anywhere from a five minute to two hour nap. Is this normal?

Walter

Anxiety and Depression
walter, I too suffer from depression and anxiety and schizoaffecrive bipolar, along with diabetes and being visually impaired. I'm on medicine for all of them except my vision. My medicine for my bipolar makes me sleepy. I slept over 12 hours a night and then would sleep during the day, too. I had alot of trouble falling asleep @ night. My Dr. would not consider me changing my medicine times. Lucky for me I had a chance to change my Shrink. The new Dr. changed my medicine and let me choose what time of day I was taking my psych medicines. He did not do this all @ once. He changed my medicines 1st and then a long time later when I was still c/o having trouble sleeping at night and being so sleepy during the day he let me change the times I took my meds. I chose to take them all at night instead of taking most of them in the day time. The change made it so I could stay awake during the daytime and sleep at night. Plus that same Dr. took me off of a couple of meds that I had been on for over 20 years. I'm greatful to that Dr. for the changes he helped me with. Unfortuneately we moved so I'm out of his county and even though my medicaid paid for my Dr. etc. I had to switch Dr.'s again. I haven't been able to see my new Dr. even though I have been in the new system and I've been attending a group for over 2 months. I plan on seeing him in Sept. Good luck walter and I'll be praying for you. Mary Lou
