I was born and raised in Kenya and moved to California in 1984 where I’ve spent most of my adult life. I have one daughter who has one daughter. My 20-year-old granddaughter now lives with me.
A chronic non-retiree, I trained and worked in business administration before I transitioned to nonfiction writing in 2012. As a lifetime member of the San Diego Friends of the Library, The Rotary Club, and the San Diego Writers & Editors Guild among others, I’m passionate about education that I believe can get people out of dehumanizing poverty in which they find themselves.
