There is a file size upload limit imposed by the website here to manage our ever growing membership's uploads to the server that we have to upgrade every so often. For instance, I just checked my allotment (go to 'Upload Your Images' in the "Gallery" navbar menu button and look at the bottom left of the page where it tells you how much space you are alloted and how much you have used so far) and I have 3.81 MB left after my 498.32 KB worth of uploads.
Since you probably use the full resolution of your smartphone, your file sizes may possibly be past your upload limit. My Samsung Note's full resolution filesize is about 3.5MB on a .jpg extension format and closer to 5MB with a .PNG extension. I upload my photos from my phone and Canon 70D to my paid for Photobucket account and upload to Boomer from there where the website compresses the photo neatly enough to limit loss while making it fit into Boomer's pipe.
I don't know how near we are to our latest server change capacity, but Admin John may help you out in getting a little extra personal space if he can spare it? My suggestion would also include starting a Group for photography enthusiasts so John could parse out a chunk for a multiple member group?
