Last week, the City of Fate started replacing the drain pipe that goes under our street. About 5 years ago, they replaced the part that was from the street in the right-of-way between our house and the neighbors house.
Part of the old worn out drain had started caving in and it became dangerous. Now they are waiting for the cement people next Monday and hopefully it will get completed next week. In the meantime, Livvy got to play on the piece of drain pipe they didn't use and she even got her little shovel and helped fill in some dirt they left.
Yesterday we worked outside for almost 4 hours in the morning. I trimmed the trees in the backyard and now we can walk under them without ducking. Rbt was using a hedge trimmer on the yaupons in the front. When he sat to drink water, I did some of the yaupon. Then when he started again, I trimmed on a tree or 2 in the front. Then we still had to pick up and clean up all the branches. But everything turned out good.
I would much rather work outside in our yard than in the house or go to a gym for exercise and my daily steps. We have always had lots of trees in our yards and love trimming them. We were dripping wet when we finished!
Last week, my grandson and his family got tickets to a tour at Wallbuilders. Will was homeschooled until his sophomore year and his books came from here. He got his love of history from Wallbuilders and they had so much fun on the tour.
As you can see there were so many different things they got to see on the tour. Will has owned the Founders' Bible for many years, but his Dad bought his own copy of it in leather. I highly recommend if you have kids or grandkids checking out the education section at the top of the link below. Here is the link to the Bible.
Oh, how I hope you had a wonderful Caturday doing whatever you enjoy the most and accomplishing just what you needed to get done.
I have spent the entire day in the computer room updating 26 new pictures on My Boomer page.
It is Summer after all and it is too hot to go outside for very long!
But after putting as many as I could of newly taken pictures on my page, I still have over 15 left over that I wanted to share and literally hundreds more taken in the last month.
Thanks for letting me share my life and my love of taking pictures & sharing graphics with you AND my love for giraffes too.
Saturday is upon us and so is the heat wave. Now let's find something exciting to do.
Loud music and lots of dancing should be on the agenda for every weekend.
Well, not everyone is full of energy today, I see. I hope you have something fun planned.
Even reading a book or watching a movie can be exciting. I finished another book last night and then watched a Hallmark movie.
There aren't many things more fun than just getting in the car and driving. Turn down a road you have never been on that leads you to someplace you have never been. Woo Hoo! Let's Go!!!
Then at the end of the day, "Thank the Lord" for a wonderful day of adventures, through travel, books or music or wherever He has taken you!
Where did the week go? The month is almost over too. Are you ready for the weekend?
The only thing I know for sure is that it is time to start the day and to celebrate with coffee!
Our kids came yesterday and Wayne wanted to drive the zero turn mower! He drove it so fast I couldn't even get a video of him on it. Both the granddaughters drove it and were experts with it. They also both drove in Houston traffic recently. They have been taught well by their Dad.
They even brought dinner for us to enjoy with them. It is always fun when they come.
We had a meal provided for us, got the grass mowed and had lots of fun sharing plants and visiting yesterday.
When they left, Nicole hung her doodle drawing on the refrigerator too. She loves to draw and is very creative. We may not see them often but they are a blessing to us when they come visit.
Good Thursday Morning to you! Thank you for sharing your heart with me.
Guard your heart for out of it springs the issues of life.
I thought these would be fun to make for Valentine or an Anniversary.
I hope you share your heart with everyone you meet. Share God's love with them too!
My strawberry plants are still making beautiful strawberries, but my precious neighbors, 9 year old Bennett and 3 year old Livvy, come to visit just often enough to eat them all.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart for He gives us what we don't ask for or want, but what we need. Blessings & Hugs!
Earlier this week, I took down the hummingbird feeders and scrubbed them. I made fresh food, filled the feeders and replaced them. The same day I saw a hummingbird.
I did NOT, nor have I ever seen a real albino hummingbird. But I do know that they exist.
I have seen so many pictures of them. Have you ever seen an albino anything?
It would just be magnificent to get a picture of one like this.
Or even one as pretty as this! Are your hummingbirds colorful? I do have ruby-throated and black-chinned. Most of them have pretty green feathers. However, all of the females are very plain.
I even tried setting up a place for them to play in the water and if they did, it wasn't when I could see them. So I will be happy that I am blessed to see them drink from the feeders that I put up.
It is Summertime and this heat wave makes everyone love the beach even more!
Let's start this Tuesday off right. Take a seat next to me and enjoy the smell of coffee as we watch the sun rise and the waves roll in again and again.
There is nothing better than best friends together just sharing old memories of days gone by.
Feel the beach spray on your body and smell that wonderful scent of the ocean.
Walk along the beach and feel the sand between your toes as you ground with the earth.
Before we know it night has started to fall upon us and we have made more beautiful memories together. Thanks for spending the day with me! I wish you lots of Blessings & Hugs!
Is it really Monday again? What will you do this last full week of June?
First thing this morning, I think Coffee is on the agenda. Ok, it actually finishes making when I am done reading our morning devotional which is usually after I have posted and emailed this.
Some mornings involve eating something for breakfast and sometimes that comes much later in the day.
One of my favorite things to do is to sit on the patio and watch for birds and listen to the windchimes hanging all around the yard. But you probably already know that.
Now that summer is here and it is quite warm, I have to water flowers and plants once or twice a day.
Then there are days that you just have to shop! for groceries of course!
And before you know it, it is Monday again and the day, the week, and the month is gone! I hope your week is simply beautiful and you have done what matters most to you too!
How does a quiet day sound to you? Would you care to sit a while and watch the clouds drift past us?
It's the weekend after all and whatever needs doing will get done... someday.
Besides, the dust will still be there next week. So I am here instead.
I try to take time to pray for each of you as I post or text and to send you a quick reply. I hope you can feel it once in a while. Because I am also sending you...
Annette Hanshaw (October 18, 1901 – March 13, 1985) was an American Jazz Age singer. She was one of the most popular radio stars of the late 20's and 30s. Over four million records of hers had been sold by 1934. In a 1934 poll held by Radio Stars, she received the title of best "female popular singer," alongside Bing Crosby as best "male popular singer." Second place went to Ethel Shutta, third place went to Ruth Etting, and fourth place went to Kate Smith.

Another Taco Tuesday is upon us and Rosa's prices are a gift to us.
Another perfect gift is flowers. I love sending and getting flowers and plants.
I love those of you that grow not only plants but all the beautiful vegetables.
Have you ever pressed flowers? I think this is so pretty and I see them pressing flowers on dough too. So many creative things to do with flowers.
Have you seen a rainbow lately or better yet, a double rainbow? The college world series baseball is in Omaha and one of the games we were watching when they showed a rainbow and it hadn't even rained. I love the gift of God's promise when we see a rainbow.
Now you already know that Giraffes and Hummingbirds are a gift to me. I love watching all birds, especially from our patio. What are some of your favorite gifts from God?
