What a weekend! Thank goodness Monday is here. We worked in the yard this weekend but we are NOT finished.
However, all the strawberries on all the 5 plants have been eaten.
On Saturday, our homemade greenhouse got completely cleaned out. Plants got trimmed and dead leaves thrown away. Yes, I may have gotten a little "pink" after over 6 hours as it was just above 90°.
But so many plants are blooming including all 5 of our Rose bushes.
And most everything else has lots of buds like all my different colors of Amaryllis. I can't wait to see which colors bloom first.
Yes, all the plants got to go back under the shade that the lattice provides on Sunday. Next is buying 20 bags of mulch to be put down.
And thank you for those that ask about Reba. She is still going in and out of the Doggie Door on her own. Blessings & Hugs! Pam
I had the best day at work ever yesterday. I made 39 phone calls, left 15 voice messages, but talked to 24 clients. It was wonderful.
Thursday we took the plastic off of all the plants and put it away, hopefully there will be no more temperatures near freezing.
The Hostas and Ferns are doing so well. Just a few weeks ago, I thought that one of the Hostas would never come back this year. God's timing is perfect.
Got some of the Ivy plants hung up in the shady areas so the 90° sunshine doesn't burn them. Spring will cool off next week!
The prolific Airplane plants are happy in the shade of the Juniper trees too.
Today in between college baseball, softball, and basketball games. I hope to get these beautiful blooming plants set out all around the backyard. I could surely use your help. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Blessings & Hugs! Pam
Thankful Thursday is here and I have a lot to be thankful for today.
I think we grew up in the best era ever! What fun we had outside roaming the neighborhoods with each other.
I am very thankful that I did NOT have to drive over that bridge to work or EVER for that matter.
As I have aged, there are a lot more simple things that I enjoy. Thankful for things that may not be perfect but still work most of the time... sight, hearing, smelling, walking... you know, the basics.
Today we are in the low 90's. We only had one ice storm this year. Yes, many of you have had a terrible winter and you are always welcome in Texas.
Today we are NOT eating Tacos. We hope to have a late lunch with Wendy, Bill & Will at Vila Brazil in Garland, Texas. It is just across Lake Ray Hubbard and next to Bass Pro.
We hope the rain that they are predicting will wait until we get back home.
We will all have our umbrellas! As no one wants to look like a drowned rat or mouse!
But we pray for no high winds or hail in the storms in our area also!
Then after the late meal and wonderful company, we send lots of Sweet Dreams as it might rain all night long.
Thank you for asking about Reba. She is doing OK. She can find her way outside and back in even though sometimes she decides to pee on the tile which gets washed lots.
She will be my last Rat Terrier, of which I have had dozens. They are my favorite breed. However, we are very fond of Rescues too.
J Lo has been with us for 12 years this past Thursday. We tried to foster her, but within a couple of hours, Rbt told the people we were adopting her. Yes, We are Foster failures.
Come on now! Be HONEST!!! How could anyone not fall in love and keep this dog?
Then there is Carly! She is in the middle. She has lived with us for 7 years and 4 months. She adopted Rbt. Carly is a rescue from Lubbock. When she hears his voice, she still gets so excited.
But then, I can't blame her! I do too, even after over 46 years.
“Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”
It is Saturday and this evening I will change all of our MANY clocks that are not automated. I will also be changing the batteries in all my MANY candles and starting them to come on an hour earlier.
This is what it looks like at 9 am this morning! The cold front has arrived and we are getting lots of beautiful cool rain!
It is March and it is Spring in Texas and we are very grateful for God's Blessings of Rain to fill all the lakes and ponds and for the green grass that is coming.
But what would we do without friends? We all need love and today is our 46th Anniversary. But the love of friends is vital also.
Thank you Jesus for all the friends that are always right there with us no matter what we are up to each day. And for the Holy Spirit being there too!
Thursday is a wet day here. We had wonderful rain and thunderstorms all across the Dallas Fort Worth areas. The lightning show went on for a long time.
Before we know it, everything will be green and the grass will need to be mowed.
When the rain is gone and the sky is blue, hopefully the ladybugs and hummingbirds will start to show up.
Then the hills and mountains will hear the flowers singing a song of thanksgiving.
Spring is a lucky time of year when things that have been dormant begin to come alive again.
Colors pop out from everywhere and it puts smiles on faces and makes everyone happy! Share that feeling even if you have rain or snow because change is coming your way!
The last Saturday in February is the last day of the month. Let's say goodbye to Winter Snow Storms too!
Come sit in the shade and let's watch for the Hummingbirds to arrive. We have had a beautiful week of Spring weather in the upper 70's and very low 80's.
Every Hummingbird is beautiful and so fascinating to watch. I can hardly wait to see the first one of the year.
There are so many varieties from all over the world. And they travel so far twice a year.
I have plants that were under plastic that are already blooming and waiting for these unusual creatures.
In about 5 more days, we should have rain! Wouldn't it be neat to see these tiny Blessings from God this coming week.
It is Friday and it was a perfect morning starting at 48°.
My Christmas or Easter Cactus is blooming in between! I have 3 pots in the house.
One is Peach colored bloom, this one is yellow and the third one that did bloom a few blooms in January has white, red, and bright pink flowers with blooms just putting out again.
This Orchid is fairly new and the blooms are just gorgeous in color.
When they first put out buds, I get so excited to see what color or design it is because they only bloom about twice a year but the blooms last for months.
You can see the green plant to the far left and the pretty pink leaf plant. They both put out a bloom sinimar to a Peace Lily!
