Hi, Myriam.... the meteorite... actually, it DID land, but they suspect it landed in the ocean just off the coast of Massachusetts. It probably was no more than 3 feet in diameter. It created a fireball, and when it fragmented, about 40 miles above the earth, the energy created was equivalent to that of 300 tons of TNT and created a sonic boom heard over a wide area! Fascinating! :)
