War and poverty throughout each nation
Hellish armies march in formation
Eternal destruction - battle cry of damnation
Nothing seems to stop their destination
Abandoned children - broken - left to die
Natures once bountiful earth - in short supply
Greed and corruption - we cannot deny
Enlightenment - rejected as a lie
Liberties taken for granted - gone awry
Spite - moral scar of mankind - evils ally
Compassion held in captivity - deprivation
Revelation revealed - the end is near - desperation
You ask -- is there salvation...
...when angels cry

What does she think--
This woman with the flowing hair
Locked behind the looking glass.
Is this her image for all to see?
And does she really care?
No pastel chalk can erase her gray--
Nor misty sentiment iron out her wrinkles.
What artist dare to define her,
With charcoal stick that draws her curves--
Outlined on crowded history of canvas.
What poet challenges themselves to write
Verse about her inner thoughts, that are
So closely guarded.
What does she think--
This woman with a comforting touch
Uncomfortably dressed in camouflage.
Buried deep within her lies strong -
Restless - desire...
She knows her place - her mirrored image
Her eyes betray her feelings.
What does she think while staring back...
Her thoughts written with ink-smudged fingers
Arranged in stacks of crumbled paper.

Untold Truths of Yesteryear...
(echoes of time, march on)
Wildflowers grow free in a
meadow laced with high school
boys and girls.
Scorched aroma of ironed hair,
lingers in marijuana drenched air,
in hope of straight silk acceptance
and fairy tale wisdom beyond their
years.
Trapped in bodies of unrestrained need
Less then perfect ducklings kiss the boys
but never tell--
Desperately seeking attention,
Only to be cast aside.
Hushed whispers for those who dared
to cry.
Delicate scent of youth forever
denied.
Crying babies tell no lies.
Downtown shops adorned with pretty
jewels of deception.
Streets lined with neatly trimmed hedges
of lies and tall trees of hypocrisy.
Young tin soldiers taken away.
Forced to be men long before their prime.
Forty years later - accounts payable--
Paid in full with suffering and blood.
Bells of destruction continue to chime...
Untold truths still betray.
