Greetings folks, So, ummm...lately I've been feeling like a dog without a home. An internet home anyway. To my longer term friends on here who do not know, I've recently created a profile on Facebook, largely to get in contact again with a person I missed from MySpace. The place has started to grow on me a little, but not much. Everytime I log in, my habitual desire is to check out the blogs. Well...as you know, I'm S-O-L on that one! Man..I'm tellin' ya....sometimes I think I'd give an arm to see a return of the old MySpace and the heat and passion of the blogging community. Yeah..sure...this place has a blog widget, but there is no way to subscribe to the blogs of others...no categories... and hell's bells, let's face it...if it were not for the writers of poetry, the blog widget here would hack up a hairball, and most certainly fall over dead from word starvation.
I keep thinking there HAS TO BE another blogging community out there which has a good socializing aspect to it...but then I think that even if there was...."Arrrg... start all over again? Blek!" Is it any wonder so many of us within the blogging community on Myspazz felt so totally ass-raped and hung out to dry by the "change". It took YEARS to develop all those contacts and friends, not to mention filtering all the weirdos out. But in getting back to Facebook...I think I've finally figured it out...precisely WHY that place does not work for me well. It is the "blogger in me". That place is as shallow as piss on a plate...and that's all there is to it! That's it, giving perfect cred to the saying "that's all she wrote!" There is rarely an expression offered by anyone which lasts longer than the average Tweet! I honestly believe your sanity might be questioned there if you dare to coin so much as a paragraph. People may delete you for breaking the rules! And to think they attract people by the hundreds of millions? Yeesh.. so much for global literacy, eh?
So...I guess I'm here again for a day or two. When the urge to express hits ya, it's a poweful thing...even if the blog widget forces you to re-adjust the font size 53 times during your moment of blogging sunshine. ;) And even more importantly... for the 2 of you who find this... God Bless Ya and thanks..ya hear???
I suppose some of you already know of this guy... but I just heard him on the radio for the first time. Literally, Obama's second cousin... the name is Milton Wolf, and he is a medical profession who is boldly and openly speaking against Obamacare. I encourage my conservative friends to check him out on his blogspot by going to www.miltonwolf.com He's also written an e-book denouncing Obamacare and the scourge that is government intervention in health care, it costs $1.99 , if I recall correctly. Just a heads-up... definitely worth checking out! -gary (Note: I am in no way affiliated with Milton Wolf...this is a notice to friends who think like me, nothing more.... have a good day!)
Ahhh hah! I just came up with an idea for a fresh blog in writing an email to a friend. I know several of my friends are Artistic Conservatives. And this always strikes me as weird, given I'm such a hardcore liberal and all (laugh here...bwahahahahaa...NOT!). Wouldn't it be largely true, however, that most artists you know are indeed liberal as all get-out? I mean...liberal to the point that, among musicians, (or whatever), it's almost a silent code written in stone that you avoid political conversation at all costs, else someone could get killed?...or at least kicked out of the band, right? I, myself, have been amongst musicians who had befriended me, and I them, for quite some time, and all of a sudden they get wind for the first time that I'm a conservative....wow... look out for the flying shoes! LOL I love it, however, as I am able to argue until I'm blue in the face if needed... but there is no point in going there, as you may already know. Never try to convince a liberal that the sun does not revolve around the earthly entity that is them. Their argument to support every decision they make is "Look, that thing up there in the sky is the sun"... which always works well in debates about the tax code.. throws the opponent off kilter a bit.. and this is precisely why you can't go there. ;) Ever notice? So.. I wonder about this strange creature that is the Conservative Artist. Are they really that small in number? And if you are one... can you help me in discussing any advantages or disadvantages in being an artistic soul who also happens to be conservative? What does "Conservative Artist" mean to you??? C'mon... I know you can do this...LOL
Once upon a time, back in the day when Who was on first base, there were two young fans of baseball named Then and Than. Then and Than would attend ballgames together, and though the boys were not related at all, many people felt they looked exactly like twin brothers, and couldn't tell the difference between Then and Than. Of course, back THEN, in the old days, it was common to address boys as "young men" and that's exactly what people would do, rather THAN worrying about the subtle differences between Then and Than.
And to make it all the more confusing, Then's last name was Than and Than's last name was Then. Yes...that's correct.. Then Than and Than Then. As you can imagine... the entire town was confused over this. THEN one day, Then and Than's teacher at school stumbled upon an awesome way to tell Then and Than apart. The teacher noticed that Then always wore a wrist watch, and Than never did! Such a brainstorming moment it was, as Then could THEN be seen as a function of time, which left Than only a matter of comparison between Then and Than. Rather THAN having a watch, Than was not related to any function of time at all...whereas Then remained to be all about time... either back wards or forwards, it didn't matter which way Then walked.. Then always wore that watch and was thus was always associated with time. But then again... maybe the author of this tale has a purpose beyond a story of two boys. Rather than saying something outright, he's pullin' your chain about something. You decide! ;)
Of all the things I probably should have saved, it would be the last lengthy email exchange between myself and Mizz Ziata Rosita Fawn. But, it's gone now. Z had an incredible way of sharing, through poetry, some of her struggles. In email, she often shared with me the things she enjoyed... her special little house in the country was one of them, and she made it sound storybook perfect. Even if she shared with me the imperfections and problems with the little house....still, it was storybook lovely. Whatever it really was in real life, it was a part of her heart. Her place of peace and solace while on this earth. She has left me now with this permanently implanted picture of the little house... and Z. It is a picture of peace and contentment, including all it's flaws and all it's beauty. They say ya can't do it... but I think she's taking it with her, except for the part she gave to me. She gave to me a vision from her heart.
Thank you Z, from the heart, for your friendship. May God Bless and Be With You.
My heart is heavy, and my throat is closing upon itself. Sometimes all that you can say when you learn of something is "I'm so sorry... I didn't know". And ya know... a think I am actually sorry that I "didn't know" . More precisely--- that I didn't know the person in person....but only online. Sometimes I've shocked a person or two across the globe when I've truly reached their soul and spotted something they didn't know they were letting me know. You see, people have a general tendency to allow you to know only what they want you to know about them...particularly when they have the comfort of the options presented by these binary contraptions we all hide behind. That said, it's been a pleasure of mine more than once to peek behind the curtain which hides the Wizard...and to see the humanity, the reality, the person. It's a knack I have to do this... I cannot help it, I see things, I know things.. I sense them, I feel them. Even when a person is conveying a "down".. I can see, therefore offer an "up"...and I can only do this because I see further into the person than they may intend. To the person I am now addressing... it has been a pleasure, a privilege and an honor to be me while discovering you. I know there has been sufferage, but I also know there has been joy as I have savored it. If I were closer, I'd visit... If I could hold your hand, I'd do so while saying something stupid which would bring a smile, and maybe a tear of joy. This would have to be true.. because it is precisely the way I think of you, the way I think of me, and the way were were as friends. I would have it no other way, and you wouldn't either. There are no regrets. The only thing I own is a smile when thinking of you, and it will be mine for the rest of my days and a few thousand years beyond. There is not a better comment which can be said about a person....so...
Thank you for being you. And thank you for smiling exactly when I needed you to... including right now. :) Love, -Gary
Welp folks... I'm not around much, but since I have some time I thought I'd drop a big stinky thought bomb, and you're free to step in it if you so desire...LOL You can discuss this amongst yourselves, try to crucify me right here for my own thoughts... the floor will soon be yours to agree or not.
It's great to see Wisconsin has a Governor that has a friggin' clue, quite unlike our Illinois counterpart. I'm jealous! I've been wanting to shove a hot poker up the arses of nearly every publically-employed entitelement junkie for a good decade or so, by now. While there are exceptions, I must admit that I nearly crap a barbell when I see those audacious toads of public charity clammoring and screaming for their right to MORE, MORE, MORE within the state of Wisconsin. And then, I about crap an entire gymnasium to realize these freaks are being bussed in from states all around... with postal employees leading the parade of life-sucking, economy-killing, closet cross-dressers who wouldn't have a clue where to start on their tax forms, let alone understand what the hell an insurance premium actually feels like. Do ya get the sense I've had it??? OMG!... Please just let a war break out over the end of arbitration of paid holidays so we can all bury this cesspool of lunacy forever! Those people are wallowing in their own slobber over crap they've been brainwashed into believing. They surely must be the American Jihadist Movement against taxpayer dollars. Good grief... the taxpaying masses are saying "Up YOURS!".... can you not hear that? We are saying "NO MORE...GAME OVER!" We are saying "Join us out here in the real world, even if you cannot imagine what it's like!....because we don't care!!!!" With payroll, retirement, insurance and paid holidays, the average income of a Wisconsin school teacher is $105K per year. All I can say is take a hike outta Dodge....!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Thoughts anyone? Care to tangle?..or do you need to go tinkle first??? ;)

Hello ya'll.... been a long time since I visited here! I'll be the first to admit that I have a history of disappearing from social networking sites over the last year or so.I'm a high-risk friend that way..LOL
I was finding myself in a funk of sorts... just wasn't enjoying this place all that much, and diverted myself into ebay selling instead. Sakes....did anyone know they had blogs there? Whodathunkit? I've been tempted towards that a time or two, but had to lay low on the political stuff there- as when you do such, your seller screen name is attached to anything you say...LOL. I will be continuing the ebay sales though...am kinda getting a kick out of it, plus I love seeing that paypal account grow. :D...I can certainly use the money. So how is everyone doing? Z and company? Mr Vic? And how about all of you rightwing Sarah Palin lovers who are to blame for that psycho in Tuscon? I mean really! It's all your fault! The lies you tell each day about of government being on the verge of going broke (even though it ALREADY IS!)...how dare you repeat and repeat those lies (truths) over and over again, like some kind of Nazi?.. just to make people believe such??? People don't believe the truth, it hurts their case of being a proper charity syphon.
Anyone here from Illinois? How about our lovely 66% hike in income taxes? Special, ain't it? Those demo-wonks really do know how to get the most from their (our) dime don't they? (...just TAKE two more dimes by force!) I'm tellin' ya.. it's all coming to a head, people...and the Government of Illinois is a giant white-capped zit on the forehead of mankind. When that sucker blows apart we'll all be breaking out the surfboards and riding the psunami of pus flowing in all directions from Springfield. As long as it wipes out Chicago and all of Cook County, we'll be breaking out the bubbly as well. ;) Anyhow... I hope everyone is doing fine..fill me in on what I've been missing, ya hear?
Hello Old Kiddies, To the dismay of many, and pleasure to a select few, I am going to continue here with further theories based upon my last blog and the direction it seemed to take when I suggested one of the things we should indeed regulate on the internet is porn. This argument stands alone... yet also represents a broader argument which spans our entire society and where it's headed. My first order will be to directly challenge anyone and everyone who believes it is solely the responsibility of parents (or in single parent's case: one parent) to protect their children from all the things they may be exposed to on the net, or outside the home. I remain to contest that not only will this effort not provide any sort of solution... I will also say that it's an act of capitulation, that of giving up on society in general through the suggestion that only the direct parents of any child or children is the only way in which a child can be salvaged in this world gone awry. In no way do I dismiss the value of doing one's best to properly raise a child, nor to protect that child from all the social ailments surrounding him/her. But the problem happens to remain to be the social ailments surrounding the children. And this includes millions of adults who either simply do not give a damned about your child, as they have an agenda of their own, an illness of their own, a politcal position of their own to uphold, etc. Their success hangs solely on your own capitulation..your own giving up towards what is socially proper, morally and otherwise. It almost makes me barf to think I'm sounding like Hilary Clinton's famous "it takes a village" line...but I'm sorta leaning in that direction. What it takes is adults who give a damned, not only about their own children, but everyone else's. When a sick old pervert successfully launches a lawsuit based upon freedom of speech which ultimately ends up in a judgement saying that a public library MUST NOT ever be allowed to run blocking software against porn... you should know the battle ahead looms large. However...this is NOT a reason to fold your hand, it's a reason to stand the hell up and take a stand. When local legislators, without your input, decide your children need to be taught in public school all the intracasies of sexual variation and orientation, as well as how to place condoms on a dildo within the age range of 6 to 8 years old, it's truly not a time to suggest that all will be kosher and healthy so long as you are watching over your child. The simple reality happens to be that you won't be there. The simple reality happens to be that you will not be there when an older brother or sister in their early teens laughingly shows the much younger sibling what it's all about on their cell phone. There is a psycholigical matter at hand here, often drawn from narcissistic rationality within adults. Adults can indeed discern for themselves, right and wrong, acceptable and not acceptable, etc., assuming of course the adult has the ability to rationalize from a balanced perspective. Children, however, do NOT possess these skills and abilities. Children can and will be motivated to emulate all they see, especially if it presents itself in a manner that serves the narcissistic nature of children-- turning the spotlight on themselves. The latter sentence is something I cannot stress enough, as the feeding frenzy of narcissistic whimsies, largely due to technological advancements, grabs ahold of the lives of both children and adults. Adults themselves get lost in it... and we dare to suggest a parent stands a chance if things are left to only them, at home. Here's a prediction for you. Within the next ten years, if left unchecked, you will likely see some level of child porn legalized, as well as the act itself. This is where it's all headed as the generational theft put in place by today's adults raises tomorrow's children. You can use Biblical passages to support what I'm saying, or you can use pure psychology. If your attitude is laxed towards what I'm saying..it's pure psychology, and it's already unfolding through you and within you. Challenge me if you may... but you will never cure the problem by tending to only that within the walls of your own home. Thanks for reading.
